Apparently you don't know most of the rights provided by the Constitution are not reserved for citizens but are extended to all.
i dont know whats going on, and im of the lazy opinion that i dont care because im not doing anything wrong---however, the govt can "watch" every american without having each agent watch 30,000 citizens. emails and phone calls can be filtered by these newfangled things called computers
People watch way too many CSI shows. If terrorists and criminals could be found in 60 minutes (well less, minus commercials) then they would have all been put away a long time ago. The feds are VERY selective in who they're tracking. People opposed to these tactics always try to scare the public and use extreme, unsubstaniated claims in an attempt to support their claims.
Sorry...you may not like it but it's usually only one party that whines about the Patriot Act. :thumb:
Did you even read Post 48? The friggin' George Bush Justice Department published a friggin' national report documenting the friggin' FBI abuses, revealing a "systemic, widespread abuse" of friggin' power including two cases of reversing the FISA courts friggin' orders! The link to the Justice Department report is right there. You want to address "unsubstantiated" again?
Sure, I'll address it. Your party (oops...I forgot again) always goes to exteme measures to blow things out of proportion. Because you have so many uneducated voters (the chad types) that will believe any garbage you throw at them, you constantly try to turn this into a complete invasion of privacy of every person in the country. Will you find abuses?...sure. I'm no fan of the FBI as they get way too much credit for their successes and too little scrutiny for their faults. Do a few incidents "substantiate" that the entire Patriot Act is out of control and that everyone is being violated?...hardly, but that's how you'll try to paint it. Please tell me where there's smoke there's fire and I'll tell you to apply that to your boys Slick Willy and Obama.
I look. I read. I know of this link. I also know what it really means - that the administration took pains to police it's own, found some abuses, and corrected them. I don't have a problem with any of this. War is a messy business. FDR had a commie spy in his inner circle. LBJ picked targets from his sh!tter (OK, the Oval Office, but he held meetings on the sh!tter and it's funnier that way...). Your exception proves the rule. Since you asked - no. I don't "despise" the ACLU. I view the ACLU like I view labor unions. 10% useful, 90% self-serving. Too bad they run their mouths and foul up the system 100% of the time instead of the required 10% of the time. I admittedly gave you license for that...
The abuse report was from the Republican Justice Department. You think I'm uneducated? You think half the country is uneducated? Try these numbers from the last election on for size. IQ and Politics "systematic, widespread abuse of power" was how it was described. Diversion from the issue. What do they have to do with Patriot Act abuses. NOTHING!
Do I believe you're uneducated?....NOT AT ALL! Do I believe you're a sheep and have bought into the cult following of Obama?...WITHOUT A DOUBT! Regarding your attachment...I love it. The first thing is shows me is that John Kerry got smoked by George W. Bush is the majority of states. The second thing it shows me is what you failed to previously respond to. As I mentioned before, the white, elistists in New England states failed to come to the rescue of their constituents after Hurricane Katrina. I don't recall Hillary, Schumer, Kerry, Kennedy, or any others reaching out saying "come" and we'll help you out. They want these votes but don't want these people living in their neighborhoods, don't want these kids in their schools, etc. Many voters in that part of the country are quite happy being Democrats. They know what they want. Give a little bit to the minorities to keep them in your back pocket and out of their towns. Also...since you're hung up on "facts", next time try to acquire some that aren't number based. We can sit here and manipulate those all day. Just like this one, how many of these people actually voted? If a state was won 51%-49%, did a state's IQ reflect positively/negatively? Divorce rate vs. voting record...who's to say the people getting divorced weren't the Kerry supporters? It's another attempt to spin something in your favor.
