1. I have seen many comments about behaviors which Miles exhibits that are described with less than laudatory affectation. Following is a fractional draft of reasons CEOs fail. Based upon your observations of Miles, are these reflective of his constitution?

    Why CEOs Fail

    Here are the eleven reasons

Arrogance— you think that you're right, and everyone else is wrong.
Melodrama— you need to be the center of attention.
Volatility— you're subject to mood swings.
Excessive Caution— you're afraid to make decisions.
Habitual Distrust— you focus on the negatives.
Aloofness — you're disengaged and disconnected.
Mischievousness— you believe that rules are made to be broken.
Eccentricity— you try to be different just for the sake of it.
Passive Resistance— what you say is not what you really believe.
Perfectionism— you get the little things right and the big things wrong.
Eagerness to Please— you try to win the popularity contest.
  2. We are only 2 games into his first season, it's waaaaaayy too early to tell. However so far there is obviously something wrong. It may be that the SEC is a big suprise to him and it will take time for him to learn and adjust or he may not have what it takes, we will see.
  3. no reflection on you, but that is one of those lists that someone gets paid a lot to state the obvious. Everyone falls onto that list somewhere, but obviously not everyone is a failure.
  4. That is part of the point of the post. You are correct in that most of these traits can be descriptive of both success and failure. Some weigh more heavily on one side of the curve than the other. I am interested in which way people see Miles trending, or if he is trending at all.
  5. I agree it's too early to tell. The interesting thing is Saban would have failed in many of those areas but he was our most successful coach.
