The good news: it only counts as 1 loss. We have 7 games left on the schedule and our young team is going to get better. We'll win a bunch of those games, maybe as many as 6 and finish with a good solid record. This loss will probably help us, more than hurt us, in the end. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
Wow, I didn't realize that. By that time I had used my constitutional rights and changed the channel. It was like being in the twilight zone. Its like the players were actually acting like we were winning, Oh wait but we weren't. I've told one person only that I had a dream last week that we lost 2 games in a row and had no QB. I'm not saying that will happen because it was a nightmare also but it was just a dream! I'm only pointing this out because it shows myself just how far we've come in ten years. Imagine ten years ago today, I would've dreamed for a season like this year or last.
I wouldn't want them acting like that if we were winning; much less losing. I'm glad I didn't have to witness that.
Beat me to it. The worst thing for me is I have to pick up my software engineer at the airport today and perform the gator chomp as a bet payoff. :cuss:
As tempting as that sounds, I know if it were reversed, I'd never let him get away with that! So, I'll just man up and take my medicine. Paybacks are a bitch.
ok, you are right, it is a rebuilding year. I dont think anyone expects the Tigers to win the SEC every year. I think we expect the tigers to compete and not look like they are clueless. I think we are loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. The problem with our offense is not the freshman qb. Its not the wide receivers dropping balls, or the o line not blocking. To me, its the game plan. Im not saying fire anyone or going into worry mode, but we have a ton of playmakers on offense. You saw what happened when we got Trindon Holliday the ball in space, you saw what happened when we got Brandon Lafell the ball in space. We cant keep lining up in the I formation and having our fullback dictate which way the ball is run. Our offense is predictable. We dont have to throw the ball 20 and 30 yards down the field we have to get the ball in the hands of Keiland, Lafell, Byrd, Holliday, Terrance Tolliver who hasnt been used nearly enough, and let them do the work. Defense: You saw the blueprint of how to beat LSU last year when South Carolina came to Death Valley. We have no idea how to stop a team that throws the ball to running backs coming out of the backfield and cover receivers in the slot. We just dont have great linebacker speed. and we are putting absolutely ZERO pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Look back to the losses in the past couple years. 2008 UF - no pressure on Tebow, Gators roll. 2007 UK - no pressure on woodson he has a field day 2007 Ark - no pressure on casey dick. we have to put opposing quarterbacks in the dirt and make them make mistakes. As long as we are just sitting back and playing zone defense, we are done for when we face a team with speed. No one expects to win a SEC championship or National Championship every year. But we do expect to not get blown out by anyone.
Actually, I agree with the above. Putting pressure on the QB constantly will improve the defense. This is one thing I miss from the Saban era. His blitz packages put constant pressure on the QB and they came from every direction making them hard to counteract, although we did get burned from time to time *coughIowacough*. Leaving it to the defensive line is asking too much. I like the blitz.
