 That is me laughing at all of the fair-weather idiots in here... Do you actually expect to win the SEC every year? Do you actually expecat a team that loses its future star QB is going to come in sharp? Do you actually expect a team that lost preparation time and a warm to a hurricane (again) wouldn't be effected (again). Do you actually expect a team that loses its allstar defensive coordinator and its whole defensive backfield isn't going to have hiccups? ITS A REBUILDING YEAR... DUMBASSES.... Remeber when a rebuilding year was 3-8? And you people want to complain about a rebuilding year that will likely end up 9-3 or... GOD FORBID! 10-2... a record that got LSU into the national championship last year... You want a reason to complain... Try being a UL fan... o:
I agree with all your remarks except the one about the hurricane. I doubt that Gustave affected the Florida game very much if at all.
First off, I agree with everything you said (except for the point about the hurricane). But to me, it's not that we lost, it's how we lost. 30 point blowout to a rival, especially coming off a bye week and having extra time to prepare, makes it tough to accept. Our weaknesses were exposed and exploited. Having said that though, I'm not one of the fans who you targeted with this thread. I've been around long enough to know how things work and did not expect us to go undefeated. Before the season, most people predicted a 10-2/9-3 season with this being one of the games we lost. Still, as uncompetitive as we were last night, I think there is cause for concern.
It's not the LOSS that hurts, it's the WAY we lost. We never were really in the game, our defense could not stop Florida's offense to a 3 and out, couldn't force any turnovers when it really mattered and more... Jarrett Lee is going to be good, but it's hard to expect him to go into the swamp and win the game single handly because Scott didn't show up. Also, the DLine looked bad on those option plays. They weren't attacking Tebow, they would wait for him to pitch it and think they could chase down a 4.2 runner.... We will be ok, let's just rebound and beat the **** out of Spurrier.
Two points to make. 1. Expectations are high every year now. These folks aren't dumbazzes. They're fans who've grown accustomed to being competitive against any opponent, any time. Comes with success. 2. LSU didn't just lose last night. LSU got crushed. As in, never really in the game - save a brief window in the 3rd that Florida slammed shut. Noone really thought LSU would go undefeated this year. But noone expected to see them embarrassed by a team that lost to Ole Miss, either. It hurts a bit, Mr. Superiority.
I partly agree here. We were competitive for at least some of the game. We could've folded at halftime, then I think you would be correct. I was a little surprised that we came back and made it a 1 td game. We will be fine, last night was an off night, the ball didn't bounce our way either. I don't think its a big concern that we came out flat after a bye week. That happens a lot of times in football. I believe we will be fine, next year! Hey, I said we would be lose 2 or 3 games this year. It is a rebuilding year and I stated this in the prediction thread. We have 2 green QB's and a new defensive unit. I will be thrilled if we can play better defense especially against the pass and quit giving up big plays.
Yep, we can not win every game every year. We will be back and stronger than ever. :geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux:
