Has EVERYONE been hypnotized by OKLA & the espn talking heads

I’ve been guilty of “falling into the trap” and believing much of the OKLA hype this year. After a closer look, OKLA is not as good as they appear and may NOT win the National Championship this year, or even the Big 12 Championship. What?

The Vaunted OKLA Sooners ... a great defense, yes, the true source of their strength ... but not as good as LSU's. What?

Gentlemen, I see an OVERRATED SOONER OFFENSE ... I'll repeat it for the cheap seats. OVERRATED OFFENSE ... Read the entire post and THINK about it BEFORE you respond. Any stat trackers in here … notice this ripe plum.

How the hell can I justify this comment with OKLA killing people 77-0? And, they killed Texas, too.

ZERO ... ZIP ... NADA … OKLA opponents are in the TOP 40 for SCORING DEFENSE, most in the bottom 1/2 of Div 1,
THEIR AVERAGE OPPONENT IS RANKED 72ND. Kentucky is 74th, Vandy is 83rd ... just for your reference
Texas was arguably their best defensive opponent at #41 and #56 Alabama took em to the wire in a 20-13 BAMA loss.
Passing teams move the ball and score on the Sooners. Texas Tech is proof of that and scored well on them.
Texas A&M ... are #113 ... 77-0, does it look so damn awesome now? Nah, not when you consider A&M has a bottom 1/2 Div 1 offense ... MOO state could have beaten Franchione this year.

How this team has a 10th ranked SOS, I’ll never know. I don’t think they have a TOP 25 SOS. Is the Big 12 weak. Yep.

KSU is the barometer ... open your eyes ... quit buying into the media darling "hype".
Kansas State has a #7 Scoring Defense and a #8 Scoring offense, and is now ranked #14 in the AP poll.
In their last 6 games, they are ON FIRE AND DOMINATING OPPOSITION scoring 259 points against their (6) Big 12 North Division Opponents while allowing 59 total.

Damn, you say, KSU 259-59 …last 6 games … those are LSU type DEFENSIVE numbers … less than 10 per game.

Stoops knows it, and he knows he’s in for the battle of his life. Was the Alabama game a fluke? Or, is the Big 12 weak. You decide. Watch the BIG 12 Championship game, I believe they'll beat OKLA. Yeah, I said it. KSU is going to win.

AND, IF

OKLA loses to a "red hot" K-state, and I think they will ... do they deserve to still play for a Sugar Bowl?

The ESPN Talking Heads and others say yes. Will the BCS rankings keep them over LSU? Hmmmm

LSU or USC would beat OKLA. Jason White and the OU line will have problems against fast tough blitzing defenses ...
Baylor’s pitiful Dee put White on his arse 10 times and sacked him 5 times in a second half where … Okla. scored 7 pts
Oklahoma’s Dee has given up 28 points to medium competition like Fresno State. They are very BEATABLE ... and their schedule is why they average 48 points a game. 20-13 over Alabama tells me everything I need to know. Think about that ... it was no fluke ... an early game, yes ... but no fluke. Don’t get caught in the Sooner hype.

How would a Sooner loss affect the BCS and the Sugar Bowl? Enquiring minds wanna know ... The Talking Heads have it figured out ... i dunno ... i dunno ... Snaps Fingers ... Wake up now!

I agree with you on this one Ramah. I have believed all season that a very good defense (ala LSU & USC) could compete and hang with Okla. But their D is as good and fast as ours, so we will have to score 20 or so points on them. We just need a shot!

Hey Raman...I think that the Big 12 Champ Game will definitely be one to watch. If KState does knock off OU, and LSU beats Arky and wins the SECCG, and USC beats the Beavers, then we could potentially have a USC v LSU matchup. How awesome would that be? Talk about an opportunity to show up the Pac-10...Just think about it...

Let them talk up OU. I hope everyone in the country says that they will kill us. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening with the schalacking OU took last night. But there's nothing like flying under the radar and then rising up to bitch slap somebody.
