on ESPN (Miami - Cleveland game) something that summed it all up. He said Saban would stay with the team instead of meeting with the Dolphins. Commented on how "Saban hired the Dolphins and not the other way around." Not an exact quote, but sounded like some people in Miami front office was upset. Glad he's staying with the team.

Don't think another week will hurt that much.

The PC is all fluff. Who cares.

This does indeed show Nick Saban has one thing on his mind. LSU winning this bowl game.

God Bless you Nick. Thanks for the greatest 5 years in LSU football history.

    You're the real deal.

  3. I'd have a better opinion of him right now had he had a little more LSU friendly PC yesterday. His delivery did not reflect the proper appreciation for the school and fan base that did so much for him here. True, he did wonders for us but LSU did more than their fair share for him.

Maybe not meeting with the Dolphins this week will make them really mad and they'll withdraw their offer! I can dream, can't I?!?!

What about this. Saban is given an ultimatum to appear. Saban says no, wait until next week.
    WH fires him.

Does LSU or the fans take him back? Hmmm. lol

WH didn't jump through hoops and pay the big bucks to let him go that easy. Saban doesn't take over until after the season so what he needs to do can be done from Orlando or Hong Kong. Saban will be on the Fin sidelines when he is needed and there is ZERO chance of him returning to LSU. I can say that with 100% certainty because crawfish's source told me so.

None of this is surprising to me, at least.

Look, Jim Bates has a job to do, both this evening and next Sunday. Last I checked, Nick Saban has a little something to do next Saturday, too.

Saban should let Jim finish out his job with dignity and zero interference, talk to the guy right after the new year, thank him for his time, and decline to offer him a spot on the new staff.

Sure, Jim may be a fine coach and a personal acquaintance of Saban's, but the worst thing you can do is have a guy who the team loves still on the staff is the team is reluctant to make the change in the first place.

Even if Jim tries to be a team guy, the potential for rifts between "Saban players" and "Bates players" is too great.

Nick should and will, IMO, clean house. Why get all that power from WH only to give some of it to the players by keeping "their guy"? Jim Bates is a fine coach and will find work elsewhere next year (hint: I'm about 110% sure Jim Haslett will need a new DC next season.)
