HAMMOND, La. -- Southeastern Louisiana has confirmed that coach Hal Mumme is a finalist for the New Mexico State head football coach vacancy.

"He's one of three or four finalists," said Dart Volz, SLU assistant athletic director for media relations.

Mumme recently flew out to interview with New Mexico State officials, according to Volz. Other candidates reportedly in contention for the position are Texas A&M offensive coordinator Les Koenning and Notre Dame defensive coordinator Kent Baer.

Just out of curiousity, how many people on here care about/watch SLU's games?

When I was a kid, I saw somebody wearing a shirt that said SLU with a green lion and asked what it was for - I thought it was an imitation LSU shirt.
