There are several reasons that Reed isn't on anyone's Heisman lists. 1. Money. Winning the Heisman costs money these days. LSU did not fund a Reed for Heisman campaign and that makes a difference. 2. Stats. While Reed leads the nation in receiving yards and the conference in almost all reciver categories, one stat stands out and hurts him. Reed only has 4 touchdowns on the year. 3. Number of losses. If LSU was 7-1 right now, things might be different. If Reed comes back next year, the school may decide to pump some money in a campaign for him, But until they do that He will not be considered on a national basis.
Doesn't matter to me anyway, I have lost ALL respect for the Heisman and what it means to college football. The reason this award is nothing but a trumped up popularity contest: Woodson over Manning!!!! Give me a freakin' break!! After that year, I realize the Heisman is nothing but a bunch of old Northern "sports enthusiasts" voting for whoever gives them the most "attention". I hope Reed doesn't win the Heisman, because in my opinion it is a joke!! Sorry for the rant, it is just how I feel.
