I can remember when we hired the short guy and I could only say - who ?

He came into Baton Rouge and started to work hard and working hard is what Nick does. He put pressure on people to do the things that needed to be done and hired a amazing staff. Nick takes each thing that he does in his day to day life very seriously and he is a very serious person.

He demands people to live up to his expectations and does the same of his players. He is coach and coach gets what he wants or there is Hell to pay. He is front brain to the point of saying what he feels when he feels it. He did a good job at LSU and won many games but he has a major flaw.

His flaw is that he is predictable! Nick wants to bury you and will but in tight games he gets tighter. Nick also has the coaching Whore tag on him based on moving for Money ! I know Bama loves to think he is staying at Bama but one more lose to Les could put Penn State ringing in his ear !

Les Miles is the Anti-Christ to a guy like Nick. Les is 180 degrees out of step with the short guy. Even with Les learning under Bo and Big Blue up in yankee land Les has a something that no one can put a finger on.
Les has beat Nick 2 out of 4 times and brought Nick to the edge on the 2 games lost to Bama under Nick control.

Les is a great Big game coach and look at his record in Big games - you do the work. Nick has his team ready but Nick can't compare to Les in Bowl games. Les Miles is a better over-all program head coach than Nick and the people around Les have a life. The people around Nick have football.

    LSU - 31
    Bama - 17

We can't say this is the best LSU football team ever until 2012 but the bus is headed in that direaction.

Outstanding post!! I think it's a fair analysis of the two coaches and the differences in the two. I would only add that Les has his WTF moments, and Nick has his WTF losses.

I don't blame saban or bama for anything. Saban wanted to win a superbowl. He won a bcsnc and his ambition to achieve at a higher level is understandable.
The diffrence between NCAA and NFL players are great. You can't coach pros like kids. Nck couldn't make the transition.

Bama was a historic program struggling to remain relevant. They were at the mid to bottom tier of the sec. They were looking for someone who could turn their program around.

Nick wanted out of the NFL. Bama wanted a proven coach. It just happened that Nick went to one of lsu's greatest rivals.

I know it was chity. I don't like Nick for it. I never liked bama anyway. I just understand what happened. It wasn't like Nick wanted to go to bama to hurt lsu. Nick wanted a NCAA coaching job again and bama came calling with the money.

I feel we got a better coach in the end. Les wants to be here. Nick will take the Penn state job and leave bama. Les is more.

I don't blame Nick for leaving - he don't leave and we don't get Les !

Les wins this game and the water walking image of St. Nick will lose a little shine.

It is part of the drill to dog out the little guy these day!

And if 20 people between them don't say no we don't get him either.

I am not sure who said no and why but I am still happy about the Les Miles era at LSU and I have been for years. I talked this week with a old Tiger fan that told me all Les has to do is to keep all that talent between the ditches !

The new anti Les statement is all that talent. If I had all that talent I could win. really

The haters that will not come over to Les but love the Tigers are many and not few. It is their own problem to deal with years of making fun of Les of how to deal with what could be our best team with Les in the drivers seat.

Nick is the awesome coach and Les is the Mad hatter. Facts - last 4 years the Les Tigers gave the great Bama teams all they want. We have beat Bama 4 out of the last 6 games. I don't think Bama has much of a chance to roll LSU this year. They might win a 10-9 war but LSU could roll Bama! LSU 31 - Bama 13-17

If LSU rolls Bama this year then the Saban that many have of him walking on water might see the guy with some high water problems !

I think it pisses Saban off to lose to Miles.

I agree w/ your post except that I don't think Nick will leave Bama. He didn't leave LSU for money, he left for the NFL. When he came back he negotiated a great deal for himself. Why would he ever move to Penn State? He has everything at Bama.

It took me a couple seasons to come on board fully with Miles. Overall, he is the better all around coach. It comes down to this; if I had a kid being recruited by both, and the only determining factor was the head coach, I would want my kid to play for Miles.

Didn't Nicky play or ass coach for Penn state. I always heard that that would be a job he couldn't pass up. His ego wouldn't let him. To take over for the legend Joe pa!
