to get rid of Lott. It was a brilliant political move by political aces Bush/Rove and Frist. Also good for the country, both in terms of race relations and in terms of spending and military budgets - we might actually cut spending and have a military budget based on the nation's needs, not pascagoula's needs. The chances of segregationists like pickering being nominated for the federal bench are also dissipated. I'm sure the dukeites on this board are bummed and blaming liberals, but this was a 95% republican move and a good one.
Agreed... He would have been the focal point of the 2004 election ala Newt baby in 1996.... Although most the demos don't have the b@lls to capitalize on the repub's anti-everything white male ideology, perhaps someone will have the fortitude to step up....
