Baton Rouge gets mentioned as well. The author also strongly recommends USL and ULM to drop to division II. http://www.foxsports.com/content/view?contentId=1912716
There is after reading that article little doubt in my mind that Mr. Gigantino will vote LSU #2 if we win.
This guy makes a lot of sense. I really like the idea of a "common sense" poll, made up of quality ex-coaches. Overall, I can see no points that I'd argue with. I think his plan is certainly better than the BCS now.
Wow, a very impressive read there. I especially like this part: " Let's not kid each other: TV is an issue in this entire BCS/college football situation. Force the BCS to go outside of ABC. For example, CBS has the rights to the SEC. This is a great package that is mutually beneficial for the conference and the network. FOX should secure the rights to the Big 12 and Pac-10. ABC keeps the Big Ten and ACC, while NBC can pick up one of the non-BCS conferences, if it so desires. It just makes so much sense that an individual conference have a strong affiliation with a major network. CBS and the SEC have set the model. The BCS bowls are still awarded to the highest bidder."
Gents, Artie Gigantino of Fox Sports is one of the 65 AP voters ... and I'm glad to see him standing up for this "PENALIZATION" & "PERSECUTION" of LSU FB over the Georgia issue and loss of QW Points. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that Artie has a soft spot in his heart for LSU ... and will probably vote LSU with a 2nd win over GEORGIA.
His Pac-10 is all screwed up in alignment. He has it divided up East/West with schools like Stanford and Arizona being in the east and BYU in the West. Makes no sense. I'd do it this way: Pac-12 North: Washington Washington State Oregon Oregon State Utah BYU (if you are going to use Utah schools that is) Pac-12 South: Stanford Cal USC UCLA Arizona Arizona State By the way, I think Utah would be patsies in that conference and BYU might not be far behind. That program is nowhere near it's former "glory."
