I find it quite interesting that Governor Blanko and Mayor Nagin
are still standing after the storm while the true victims got axed such
    as Eddie Compass.
What could Eddie Compass have done since he didn't have what he
    needed to do the job?
Is it his fault that some police were cowards and left their posts while
    others looted?

I also find it interesting that Mike Brown got axed and Blanko and
Nagin have no responsibility what so ever as of yet.
No questions lobbed at Blanko, no softballs either.

It is because you don't see the differences in responsibility between them. Mike Brown was an appointed official in charge of a major federal agency. He was fired by his boss who heads Homeland Security who was appointed by George Bush. He is responsible to the President and to Congress to do his job properly. He can and must be sacked if he fails or his superiors are at fault also.

Blanco and Nagin are elected officials and they are responsible only to the citizens that elected them. They must stand for re-election on their performance during this crisis.

This is they way it has always worked. What exactly is the problem?

Before you duhhhhhhh me too a-hole, I think what SourDough was saying was, why does Eddie Compass get axed, Brown get all these grandstanding questions and statements from congressa-holes, but Edith Blanco really get no questions at all? Nagin none at all.

I mean, the committee's purpose I thought was to shed some light on what happened correct? So how can you get to the bottom of it if those two key figures are not asked any questions.......what's that you say Yosemite? You can't get to the bottom of it? That's correct, cause that wasn't what that committee wanted anyway. They could care less about New Orleans or Louisiana or what went wrong. This was an opportunity for them to get on TV, grandstand about how mad they are, at take a few jabs at Bush.

    Duhhhhhh!!!!!!

LSUCraig is correct I asked questions about Eddie Compass.
Once again I asked questions about Eddie Compass.

Everyone got axed other than the persons responsible.
You say its because they are elected officials and they have to be recalled or
elected well I will do some research.
I bet there is something out there where an elected official had to resign
because they were indicted for a crime.

It didn't apply to Tom Delay or that governor in the northeast that had to leave
office so you must not be correct.

Nothing gets done in DC that isn't politics, since DC is controlled by Liberals and
their media I don't expect the truth ever to come out anyway.

You're just trying to bait me and deserve to be ignored, but since you are so easy to shoot down, I can't resist. Who says they got "no questions at all"? Do you really believe that? You didn't watch the hearing did you?

I'll use really small words so that you can understand. Blanco doesn't report to Congress, she reports to the citizens of Louisiana who elected her. They asked questions that were appropriate for an elected official.

Quit putting words in my mouth. You can't even articulate your own thoughts, much less what you imagine mine to be. I'll defend my own statements, I won't even address the ones you make up for me. As for the committee "not caring about New Orleans or Louisiana", . . . only a fool would say that.

This is evidence that you didn't even read or watch it. Blanco didn't offer one word of criticism about Bush at the hearings, she didn't even criticise Brown. You don't know what you are talking about, as usual.

Sourdough, DC is controlled by a Republican President, a Republican Senate, a Republican House, and a Republican Supreme Court. Did you forget?

US government failures are clearly a republican problem.

I watched it Yosemite.....Landrieu and her family, Nagin and his, Blanco, Edwin Edwards, Congress, none of them give a good-GD what happened down in NO my friend. They've never cared about them........especially Louisiana Democrats who have controlled our state for the last 150 years. They have used the poverty ridden blacks of NO to get reelected while leaving them down there to rot. You're a fool to think otherwise.

I didn't say Blanco dooooofus. I said Congress. That';s the only reason they held any hearings at all was to take a few shots at Bush and the administration. That's it. Nothing will come out of the crappy, dumpy hearing you fool.

You obviously didn't watch it cause they didn't ask her anything dude. She talked a little and went home.

You're easy to bait cause you know nothing duhhh? Hey throw up another link to some stupid-ass website Foghorn.

Does that go for New Orleans and Louisiana for the last 40 to 60 years
    or so?
Haven't the Democrats been in charge in Louisiana and New Orleans that
    long?
You would think New Orleans and Louisiana would be the perfect example
the way Democrats and supporters blame Republcans for everything.

    Remember Eddie Compass?
I asked questions and no one must have seen them!

How will you explain the differences between the mayor and the governor
since you don't think neither one did anything wrong?

Like I said before, nothing good ever gets done in Washington DC.
Homeland Security wasn't good, steroids , etc.
All the important issues are mute, borders, etc.

There are much important issues out there than sports like our children
are no longer as safe as they once was.
The priorities are all screwed up and the parties would rather destroy each
    other than work together.
