Despite rebounding and free-throw problems, and some very questionable officiating, LSU played tough, gritty basketball and took the #7 team in the country to the limit. The guys could have phoned it in thinking their season was over, especially after going down by 12, but they fought hard and I'm proud of the effort they showed today. Hopefully, this is a good sign of things to come for the program.
I'm glad it wasn't just me. Obviously, being biased, I often have to keep myself in check. But, I thought there were definitely some head scratchers. Even more than the number of fouls - 18 for us, 13 for them - it seemed as though it was the critical timing of many of them. Oh well, agreed, good effort today.
anything in the paint, whether the man was set or not was called a charge. they had some bad ones both ways. it just fell that the ones on LSU were at bad times in the game.
I'm sorry, but when I see 2-3 offensive fouls called when replay clearly shows the defender's feet aren't set, my BS detector goes crazy.
I feel for the team they certainly could have won but hopefully they can pull out a couple before the season end's.
Officiating in the game was complete horse****, but regardless, we didn't play well enough in the game to win it. IF Tenn shoots better than 29% from the line we lose by double digits. I was glad to be at the PMAC for this one. It was a great environment.
I agree it was absolutely rockin at the end. I felt like I was at a real basketball school...minus the empty top rows of course :hihi: Tenn shot like 31% from the field and 4-15 from the line. I don't care who you are, if we can't beat a team playing that poorly then we must really be that bad.
I saw more effort out of this team as well as the fans than I have seen in any game the entire season.
