Maybe they are apologizing for calling the apes that Michelle Obama and George Bush look like monkeys. That is kinda racist right there because apes are higher primates than monkeys. Here is the math Human > Ape > Monkey Calling human ape = racist Calling ape monkey = racisit Calling human monkey = racist^2 Also my best friend from high school looked more like a lower primate than any black dude possibly could. He also ate a bunch of bananas every day which didn't help.
Um, no. Human = Ape Monkey = Ape Also, in those pictures of Bush, my 2 year old has that stuffed animal monkey in the middle, and it is his favorite toy. If I could only tell you the racist things that come out of that monkey's mouth.... He also tells me to burn things...
well, in google's defense, the image of obama came up without adding "monkey" to the search. it was just "michelle obama". but yes, the point here is the double standard. there is zero chance the same thing would happen if a search for bush revealed an inbred hillbilly. also usm is wrong about monkeys.
I guess human are apes from a nomenclature standpoint, but we are higher order of apes than chimps, gorillas, and orangutans. My math is technially correct which of course is the best kind of correct. Monkeys are most certainly not apes. From the Audubon Society Field Guide to New World Primates:
Yeah, you guys are right, Monkeys != Apes. I forgot about the tail thing. I was just testing you guys <cough>
Public figures have always been subject to ridicule and mockery. The internet is just the newest flavor. The only difference between a Google Search and a newspaper political cartoon is that the paper has some editorial control. Google cannot do so without censorship.
agreed so they would have been better served by saying nothing. Now they have given the appearance of favoritism, even if there is actually none.
