This is my kind of coach...

Through MSU spokesman Mike Nemeth, coach Sylvester Croom said he was aware of the incident and that no disciplinary action would be taken.

Croom added: "If they are arrested for defending themselves, so be it.

It's only a matter of time before we hear news out of Starkvegas about the Klan wanting Croom's head...

"They looked like they were fixin' to get me, so I started swinging," Elency Erby, 20, said. "I just knuckled up."

    hahaha, another good one:

"I ordered Mr. Brown to stop, and he did not comply," the incident report states. "I then attempted to physically pull him off Mr. Erby, but he continued to swing wildly. I then shot Mr. Brown with my X26 Taser, and Mr. Brown became compliant."

I thought Croom was having such a hard time because he was cleaning up the program & etc.??? Then he's not even going to discipline his players because they were "defending" themselves? When you have to have taser a guy to make him stop beating someone up - that's not self-defense.

    I think CParso nailed it.

I understand having to defend yourself...but once you get the guy off of you, shouldn't you walk away? Especially being a high-profile athlete. If the police hav eto come pull you off the other guy, you are no longer "defending yourself".

So...how many SEC schools are left without having a player in the headlines for the wrong reasons? This off-season has been ugly.

    I like this one:

"I clocked him right in the head," Lester said. "We're taught not to run from anything, even if they were big."

I can't remember the lastime I used the phrase "I clocked him"

If someone attacks me and is still moving when on the ground...depending on how badly he hurt me...I would sometimes make sure he stays on the ground so as not to have him get up again and attack me.

Sounds harsh but it is needed at times.

I didnt even read this article so I am in no way defending them but someone said that maybe they should have walked away once they got them off their shoulders....sometimes you can't

I know where you are coming from and understand that point of view. That is sometimes neccesary.

Howeve, in the article it states that he did not get off of him when the police got there. He had to be tasered with a stun gun before letting the police take over. This is not defending yourself. Keeping the guy down til the police get there is justified, but not what he did.

Ya, I didn't read the article but am just stating that sometimes it is necessary to do something while the person is down.

And I wouldn't expect anything less from a Marine.
