Having grown up an LSU fan (up until I started College), I have found it hard to shake my desire to see LSU Baseball succeed (unless of course you are playing my beloved Tigers). That being said, good luck at the CWS - do the SEC proud!
Thanks Chuck, I didn't know that you grew up a "REAL" tiger. You have always been real supportive of LSU, and now I know why. Thanks,
Chuck where are you from Originally ??? Where did you grow up. If you dont mind me pulling back the curtain a bit ??
Well, technically, I "grew up" in Connecticut (ages 9-college), but from 1980 - 1984 I lived in Mandeville, LA. It was during that time that my early allegances were formed (Saints and LSU). When I moved up to CT, those allegances grew stronger b/c I was surrounded by NY Giants fans and people who didn't follow college football. My older brother went to LSU and I simply didn't want to follow him to college (nothing personal, just been following him my whole life), so I decided that while I still wanted to go to a SEC school, it wouldn't be LSU.
Wow you are well traveled talk about culture shock, Mandeville and the north shore to Connecticut... Went from Y'all to Yous guys... I have a strange one myself, born in Baton Rouge, move to Saudi Arabia, Rhode Island, Houston, and Chicago then back home. (Dad worked for Exxon) Hard to grow roots.
you got me beat on distance but my had an odd twist... BR to (get this) Starkville to BR to Clinton..... That first stop after BR was quite scary!
Well, I didn't give you the full breakdown: Born in Dallas Moved to Coral Springs, FL when I was 1 Moved to Mandeville, LA when I was 4 Moved to Simsbury, CT when I was 8 Went to college at Auburn Graduated and moved to Houston and no, I wasn't a military brat.
