Here's a look at the Top 25 records for the past two and a half seasons. (including post-season) USC 27-3 Ohio St. 27-3 LSU 27-4 Texas 27-4 Wisconsin 27-4 W. Virginia 26-4 Florida 26-5 Boise St. 25-5 TCU 25-5 VA Tech 26-6 Boston College 24-6 Louisiville 24-6 Auburn 23-7 Penn State 23-7 Cal 23-7 Oklahoma 23-8 Georgia 23-8 Rutgers 21-8 Michigan 21-9 Texas Tech 21-9 Oregon 21-9 UCLA 21-9 Hawaii 21-10 Nebraska 21-10 21 Teams tied @ 20-10 That's not too bad considering the level of competition we play. The remaining teams in the top five also play difficult schedules but I don't believe they're more difficult than ours. Weighing the level of competition, the argument could be made that LSU has been the most successful team during the last 2+ seasons. I'm not trying to start a war with the Big 10, Pac 1, or Big 12 fans but just simply demonstrating that Coach Miles and staff have a better winning % than Coach Saban had during his tenure and that this staff deserves kudos. Obviously our record could change considerably based on the next two games against Top 10 teams. If LSU wins the next two games it will be very difficult for anyone to rank them below #1 or to continue saying that Miles is winning with saban's talent. Good job coaches!...keep it going. :geauxtige
Some thoughts come to mind. I don't believe that Saban recruited Perrilioux, Keiland Williams or Trenton Holliday? What I'm trying to say is that our winning isn't based on Saban's recruits only. On the other hand it works both ways. Saban is winning or losing with Shula's players, the gumps will have to realize that sooner or later as they echo Miles winning with Saban's players. Ditto, I am so pleased with this coaching staff and the way the team is prepared to play and has performed so far. Some may question that but anytime you can overlook a team or not play well such as the Tulane game and still win 34-9 is fine with me. I'll take it, the defense still only gave up one td in this game.
No, he didnt. Those are Miles' guys. Miles persuaded Perrilloux away from Texas. This is our last year of Saban recruits, and while we have some contributing seniors out there from the Saban days, we are actually a pretty young football team, looking through the 2 deep. We are definitely in good hands.
