I thought we might when the way the defense kept getting the ball but our offense is really offensive right now. Addai had a big game. 32 carries for 156 yds. Miles stuck with him and Russel completed some long throws. Wynn had 16 carries for 93 yards. Might could have used a few more carries and might have gotten them if Leak could have completed a few passes. I'm not making excuses but I don't think Leak is 100%. He hardly practiced the week before the MSU game and didn't look sharp in that game either, 18-33, 2 ints, 244 yds. You guys aren't MSU either.
Hang in there and give Miles time. I heard you guys were pretty upset after the UT loss, and thats understandable. Your proud to be LSU fans just like I'm proud to be a Gators fan. It seems we both have been spoiled by coaches who are no longer on our sidelines. I'm not referring to Zook on the Gators side either. Good luck against AU.

Classy post, and thanks for stopping by. The game won't go down as a thing of beauty, but it was a hard fought contest by two tough teams. A classic SEC sluggfest. The Fla. D looked good, especially up front.

We can fight like hell all week, but as SEC fans, I think we all respect good teams and good efforts.

Ya'll gotta give Urban some time also. He looks organized on the sideline, and the kids looked like they played hard for him.

Good luck down the road. I'm sure you'll play in the post season, so win one for the SEC!

Thanks for the props, UF. I think Meyer may have to use more of a pro-set offense to take advantage of what Leak brings to the table. But once he recruits the kind of option quarterback that he needs, the spread option looks like it could work to me. Florida just needs a few more stud receivers and a QB that doesn't mind getting hit and can run the ball.

Florida has never had much of a problem finding the talent.

Still, running quarterbacks have been very successful over the years in the right system. The Wishbone ate everybody's lunch in the 70's. Not every athlete is suited to be a top drop-back passer. Not every team is blessed with one. Even big drop-back quarterbacks with legs like Bradshaw never shied from the run. Herb Tyler won big games for LSu with the run and the pass. I think there is still a place for athletic running quarterbacks with an arm. We may find out when Perrilloux gets into the game.

A good point if it was the wishbone and the QB actually ran the ball a lot. In the spread option the run is there only to keep the defense honest by picking up an easy five if they leave the QB uncovered and double on a receiver. But they do throw the ball a lot, the QB run is an option that is not the prime weapon. And they do get a lot of receivers in the game. A recruit that wants to play early might like an offense with five starting wide receivers instead of two.

Too early. Wait until he gets the option quarterback he recruits into the offense.
