Today is the day we shake hands and bid farewell to a legacy that will continue to write itself for an entire generation, maybe two. Judge today as you may and consider this our message to begin the time capsule that shall ingrain his place in history. There is good and there is bad but for me to put my finger on the pulse of an administration and it's body of work for the last eight years, I submit the following:

Today is has been 2088 days since that day on the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln when it was announced "Mission Accomplished".

For that and that alone gentlemen I say screw you and the magic carpet yawl rode in on.

Tricky Dick, adiĆ³s dude. You may leave all weapons and ammo at the amnesty barrel. Sir, you are done for the day.

Mr. Obama, it's your turn and good luck to you sir. It's a mess even Oxy Clean could be challenged on.

At least he honestly admitted that was one of the things he wish he could do over... He wished they had never said mission accomplished.

I'll say this, like every other administration, it will take me some time before I truly know how I feel about it. I couldn't wait for Clinton to leave in 2000 and yet now, 8 year removed, my growing and understanding of things lets me know that his administration was not as bad as I had originally viewed, yet I still don't think it was as great as others say. All I do know is I supported the man while he was in office.

The same goes for Bush, I have a better outlook on his administration but then I figure I can chalk that up to the fact that I voted for him...twice. Obviously, I'm not exactly happy with a lot of things from his administration and the way things have been left for Mr. Obama. I think the one thing I have learned is that I shouldn't judge right after something is done and over. I suspect that even though I have a better opinion of this outgoing administration than Clinton's (obvious bias here... I know). I think 8 to 16 years from now I will view it in a different light as will I view Clinton's in a different light then.

Now to Mr. Obama. While I know I didn't vote for him, I do respect the office and the man who holds it. I may not agree with all of his policies, but I do believe he will do his best to make this Country a better place. I know he will do his best move this country forward. And as long as he doesn't blatently put this country in harms way, he will have my support for the next 4 years... and who knows he might even garner my vote in 4 years.

I am glad he wished he had performed otherwise, but he still does not get a pass on this one. Everything else shall be judged in due time.

To make such a flamboyant statement with the fanfare and all the whistles, he should have very well been prepared to substantiate such a move by immediately returning our war fighters to the rear, the next day.

Regret is such a wasted emotion.

Because you have never regretted anything you've ever done or said. I'm not excusing his bad decision, but as the leader of the free world, being able to set your ego aside and admit what you did was wrong is very hard (perfect example is Nixon).

I'm also not saying your wrong, he should have been ready to withdraw the troops the next day.

But I also believe his decision of staying was the right thing to do...in this case and in the situation we were already in. In hind site, I would rather we never went over there in the first place. But you cannot change the past you can only try to do whats best in the present with the information you have at hand.

Here's a question for you to answer.

Is it better to make the mistake he did, and stay to finish the job or is it better to follow through and leave when he knew it would destroy that country and plunge it complete chaos?

I don't understand what the BFD was. We toppled the regime and "Mission Accomplished". Notwithstanding what transpired later, the original mission was, in fact, accomplished.

You guys need to let Bush go. With Pelosi and Dean in power we have a lot more to worry about than an ex-president.

Jeez, what a bunch of crybabies.

I made no comment about weather we should be in the conflict or about why we should stay or go. Simply put, I commented on "Mission accomplished" which, was not. How many troops are over there today joking about Mission Accomplished?

If that were true then why would he have regrets? The original mission was about WMD which, there was none of. Taking down a regime was secondary to the intent.

Look, feel free to say what a great guy he was, but say good-by. I voted for his promise too and perhaps history will prove that he was a swell guy...

Sure, and if you can let Pete slide on being a turd to Sanchez and the entire planet shall live in harmony.

    whether

His regret was that the liberal media acted like he used the N word...and there were WMD

From a character standpoint, I would take a thousand Bush's over one Reid or Pelosi.

California has done a number on you.
