http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/5111821.html It's in the news section of our forum, but its so good I thought I'd call your attention to it. Hear some of coach Miles passion, see some of the comraderie of the team. Doucet will be counted on to help lead the team next year. 3 pages, worth the time.
From the picture, it looks like the players like Miles. That is a good thing. Hopefully they tell their buddies back in high school that LSU IS THE PLACE TO BE!
A lot of,if not most of the reporters around the state are starting to rally around the "new" head coach of the LSU Tigers football team. Most reporters are on board, some sadly are not. The LSU train is going to leave the station without them. Thats ok, we will pick up a lot of AP.USA Today,ESPN, CBSSPORTSLINE writers along the way. The future is with LES Miles.
That makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Thanks Les for putting up with some the garbage that has been thrown your way. Good Luck next year and thanks for being so darn honest. Geaux tigers!
Great article. Im starting to like Miles more and more myself. I cant wait for next year. The biggest key will be for LSU to keep focus. If we can omit the hiccups at Auburn, Florida, and Ole Miss at home, eventhough we won. The team will certainly have the talent to go all the way. I think part of it is Miles is starting to become accustomed to LSU and the SEC. There is a huge difference coaching Ok ST and LSU. At Ok St you dont have high expectations. Here at LSU we dream big, we dream of:crystal:. All that aside, LSU football is everything here in Louisiana. Miles really seems to be understanding that fact. He relishes how much the team is loved. Im really thinking Miles could be our coach for a while. Truly our coach, a fans coach in that he knows the fans are part of the team. Next year will be a big year in how the overall percecptions of Miles will be, but Im confident we have the right man.
“If I could have got us through the stinkin’ Auburn game, we would have beat Florida. If the ball had bounced right and the officials had seen it properly in the Auburn game, we’d be undefeated.” Foundless that an undefeated LSU would have beaten Florida. Here's a tip for you, Les. Don't cry about spilled milk. Just start making your game Plan right now against Auburn. And be sure you actually show up in Tiger Stadium that night with the offense and a great game plan, just so you don't have to sing the same song in 2008. As for Florida in Tiger Stadium in 2007, it will be the biggest game you ever play. Another Viewpoint: After the USC win, the usual post-season politics began. Just shameless jockeying for position in the "Pre-Season" Polls. I see Les & a few players have bought into this "game". It's a "West-Coast" disease, I believe. I think Les could have made the same statement if he talked repeatedly about the awesome performance in the second half and the way LSU played on both Offense and Defense and how they actually shut-out Notre Dame in the entire second half. Then, make a comment to the media guys like "Hey, guys, did anyone manage to shut out Notre Dame & Brady Quinn in the second half this entire season". The media hounds would have fallen for that one like a band of gypsies chasing a drunkard with a pocket full of cash from the ATM. We'd still be reading articles on the LSU Defense and their great performance. Instead, we hear all this rubbish about how Notre Dame didn't deserve to be in the Sugar Bowl, just diminishing LSU's performance even more. LSU could have had some nice "spin" on an awesome Defense & Offensive performance. Naturally, this would have spilled over into "Preseason" 2007 hype. Now, LSU's Defense gets less credit because ND wasn't "worthy". :nope: That's total bs. Was there anyone in this forum who thought ND wasn't "worthy" when the score was tied 14-14? Step right up, and tell us some lies! Truth is, LSU played the best half of football I've ever seen them play. They did something no other Top 10 team could do. And nobody has really noticed. At this rate, LSU will be lucky to get a Top 5 spot with JR gone. Truth is, Nobody can spin like USC and Pete Carroll. It's Hollywood, chere! The LSU SID needs a bug in his ear over the matter. I'm having dinner with a few of the LSU boys tomorrow. My Agenda: One small step and a well placed "word" or two.
