If he just wanted to make shirts that had "LSU" and "Tigers" on it, then yeah. But none of the official merch has any of the other letters in the Geaux font, which is what he needs.
have you tried the lsutaf.org site? lots of geaux font on those pages. Edit: I cant believe how hard it is to find the word "MIKE" or "Basketball" in that font.
I keep breaking apart these sites trying to find at least images so we can get a semi complete font and i found something else i had been search for forever. Usually i can only find a small pixelated version of the soccer shield but look at this puppy!
What's the big deal about the font? Why is it guarded so closely? Is it so you'll know something's officially licensed? If so, it sounds like it's quite easy to recreate. At least some of the letters.
LSU paid for it to be created especially for LSU. LSU has decided they want to keep it only for LSU. That can't be achieved by releasing it publicly. There are tons of free fonts out there, but there are tons of private fonts and fonts that have to be paid for, as well. I'm the IT manager at a marketing/pr agency and I often have to buy and install fonts for our designers to use. It's a pretty common practice.
I had no idea and I too am an IT manager, but I work for a defense contractor instead of a PR firm. I guess its a little different here. Thanks for the info. :thumb:
