Check this out.... 30 million in scolarships and the NCAA still says no... http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news;...lug=ap-championshipproposal&prov=ap&type=lgns Geaux Tigers!!!
There already is One Champ. There is a the National Champion as determined at the beginning of the season. Then a trophy that 48 sports writers decided to give to USC because they dont like the rules... I wish LSU could play USC. They would have 100 yards of total offense... If that
I think the NCAA likes the controversy surrounding all this. It keeps people buzzing about the product.
"Besides numerous logistical problems, games aren't allowed past last Sunday, which was the date of the Sugar Bowl. " This is junk. Remember when the last game was Jan. 1? Now it's Jan. 4 USC is scared, just like Va Tech. And I can't blame them!
I thnink the NCAA knows that those 2 teams will have the highest followings next season, which means money. If they were to let them play, then there would be only 1 team everyone would be watching....2 is better than one in their eyes I suppose. Geaux Tigers!
I just heard on the Dan Patrick show that the NCAA is meeting this weekend to discuss this, and plan to have a decision by Monday...... I still don't see it happening but the fact that they are meeting, means there might be a chance!!
No way the NCAA allows the game to be played. That would mean admitting they needed someone from the outside to come in and clean up their mess. NO WAY NO HOW will they allow it to happen.
There is no way that these teams will meet, or even will want to if the NCAA allows it. USC hasn't practiced or done any conditioning in 8 days. LSU hasn't in 5. Most of the players are home with family and same with the coaches. It's just not going to happen.
Another thing to think about is that I'm sure that by now some seniors on both teams have already begun to accept gifts from agents. As much as I would like to see it happen it won't.
