Can LSU lobby CBS for a prime time slot?

What are the chances the Tennessee game is at night? I understand CBS has the first crack at the game, but can LSU lobby to CBS to have it broadcast as a prime time game? I'd think LSU would want to showcase to the country that Louisiana is getting back on their feet and what better way to do that but in prime time game on a major network. ESPN is great, but CBS prime time is as good as it gets. If Tenn wins next week (big if), it certainly would have national appeal. What do you guys think? I just don't want to see this game @ 2:30.

ESPN has first shot at the game. It's supposed to be announced tomorrow if they elect to televise it. Odds are they will.

Why does ESPN get first shot? I thought the order was CBS, ESPN, then JP. Don't get me wrong I'd love for it to be on ESPN, I always thought they were behind CBS in terms of priority. Can you elaborate?

Here's an excerpt from an article in Thursdays NO T-P:

Kickoff time has not been officially scheduled but it is highly probable that ESPN, which has first choice of SEC games for that date, will choose it for the 6:45 p.m. time slot. CBS has the second choice for its 2:30 p.m. slot.
