Sorry if this is a repost, I didnt see it. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tvlistings/news/story?id=2043952
since 4 tickets are going for $7000 on ebay, I am not a bit surprised. The two media darlings meeting face to face, did you really think our game had a shot. If we win out and bama is undefeated, I bet espn will come to Tide town.
To this day I still wonder why Gameday is such a big deal to everyone. Oh yeah, ESPN brainwashes people into thinking it's super important. My bad.....
I think people just want to hold up signs saying "Chris Leak hangs out in the Coates Bathroom" on national TV.
Don't get me wrong I can see how it can be fun for some people. It's just that whenever I have been on campus for a game and Gameday has been in town, the last thing I have thought about was the Gameday crew/broadcast. Other than passing by from a distance and thinking "hey that's the gameday crew over there" and continuing on. Also... With the way college football coverage is an obvious media ratings extravaganza and the broadcast of Gameday itself setup to be an argument between Lee and Kirk.... ya know the same cookie cutter format ESPN uses for every sport is had people discuss/debate/break down...... It's just all one big joke now. I pick Team A cause they will win big with their high-powered passing game! Not so fast, I pick Team B because they have the #3 pass defense in the nation! Defense wins games!! It's no different than that stupid little guy with the glasses that ESPN has on Sportscenter breaking down NFL teams/games.
