he's a fucker,.. the first book came out in 1996, it took him 16 years to finish the next four, there was supposed to be three more books to finish the series,.. in 2015 he said book 6 should be released by Christmas, still waiting on the bastard
But didn't you know that before you started reading them? Just think about the poor saps that started reading them when he was actually still a writer. I didn't know this, but the abbreviated 7-8 seasons is totally on the show runners/writers Dave Bennioff and D.B. Weiss. HBO wanted full seasons. They even wanted the show to keep going beyond season 8, but D/DB had already signed on to be involved in one of the Star Wars movies, so they were anxious for GoTs to end so they could start that. I thought it was HBO who pulled the plug because the budget for each episode was like $10m. So it was the fuckin executive producers of the show that sold out the quality just to hurry and finish. That's unforgivable! I like this dude's version of how it should have ended much better then that piece of crap they ended up showing us. It's roughly 10 minutes long if you skip ahead of his commentary at the beginning (to 4:43 mark), but kind of interesting in my opinion.

It's really unforgivable what he's doing. And he's got 'fuck you' money now, so the publisher has no leverage. Its almost like he enjoys it because he knows everyone is pissed and yet he feels zero loyalty to get his ass in gear and just write. Writers are supposed to love telling their story to anyone who wants to hear (read) it, but not him anymore. He's a psychopath.
