  1. Someone please post a summary of the game tonight. I didn't get to see it and only caught bits and pieces of the score throughout. It SEEMS like the offense was lackluster and we didn't pull away until late when the depth starting showing. Is that accurate? If so, what was the problem (other than not having your starting QB and WR)? Sounds like the defense was as dominant as ever, even if it was against a smaller school.
  2. utter destruction... that about sums it up.. lol

I thought the offense looked pretty good, considering it was alot of our second/third string guys.. lol

RP was all he was ever touted to be.. 20/26 I think, 3 TD's, about 300 yards and a pick... wonderful debut I think.

Defense.. see the first sentence, add mental image of a gorilla with a chainsaw-peepee.
  3. Couldn't have been more WRONG...

We consistantly marched down the field (our first punt of the game came late in the 3rd quarter).

On our first drive of the game, RP was sacked on 3rd and goal from the 5 so we settled for a FG.

Colt David booted a few FG's. RP threw an INT, but we got the ball right back forcing MTSU to go 3-and-out and on our first offensive play, RP hit D. Byrd on a very nice 62-yard TD pass.

RP threw for almost 300 yards (298 I believe and 307 as a team) and the offense rushed for 198.

OMG, ONLY on TF could an offense rack up over 500 yards of offense in a 44-0 shut-out be referred to as "lackluster". :dis: The way I see it, the only thing "lackluster" is the support and satisfaction of a few of our fans in which we win for the 3rd straight time to start the season--all by 41 points or more...

After 3 games we rank 18th in the freak'n country in TOTAL offense (231 ypg rushing, 252 ypg passing), average 45 points per game (which is good for 14th nationally).

Please, do all of us a HUGE favor: The next time LSU wins by 40+ points, and you FEEL the need to INQUIRE and ASK IF the offense is "lackluster", just don't talk....you won't look as bad that way
  4. LSU scores.....MT goes three and out....LSU scores.....MT goes three and out.....LSU scores.....MT goes three and out......LSU scores.....MT goes three and out.....LSU scores......so on and so forth. :thumb:
  5. the D was dominant except for a couple small drives mtsu put together that stalled.

the O was great considering the loss of three starters. the only negatives were a couple turnovers (rp hit a safety between the numbers and zinger had the ball stripped) and a few stalled drives in the red zone (mtsu had a goal line stand on the 1st drive).

oh, and they're not a much smaller school--mtsu has about as many as va tech.
  6. You need to get off you're high horse, my friend. He said he didn't see the game and only heard the score. It was 10-0 after the 1st and 23-0 at the half. If he didn't see how the first half went down, it's not a stretch think we struggled on offense.

Maybe no one should post on this forum anymore. That might please you.
  7. Thank you. That's exactly what I was referring too. It seems like we had to settle for FGs in the first half and I was only wondering why. No disrespect or otherwise negative karma to the team was intended.

Is it just me or is AtlantaBengal ALWAYS the first one to jump on somebody without fully understanding the context of a post or question? I'll be waiting for your apology AB. :dis:
  8. I respectfully disagree.

Considering the fact that the team started without three key starters, we have to give the team a break to give them time to put in together, esp. for a first time starter QB. I remember even in recent years, the team had always took its' time to get started offensively; it wasn't until last year with JR and company that they tend to drive down the field with scores early in the 1st quarter. I think expectations are way too high; it is like expecting nothing less than perfection every minute of the game.:dis: Patience!!

Overall the team did quite well, IMO. It is great that the coaches are playing a lot of the 2nd and 3rd stringers that will help them with confidence and experience, not to mention helping with recruiting. The team's depth is amazing.

  9. Lackluster offense????? 44-0. LSU started pulling away in the 1st quarter. Boy that gold sure is heavy.
