A split championship was wrong in 2003, and it would be wrong in 2011. When LSU wins, we'll have earned the BCS championship like no team has done before. If Bama manages to win, they'll have done so with a softer schedule and the benefit of a do-over. As far as I'm concerned however, if we don't get the job done on 1/9, the AP can keep their #1 ranking.
Edwards' alma mater doesn't bother me; Bama is a fine university. But this is clearly an area where journalistic ethics would require full disclosure, and there has been none by ESPN. Then again, ESPN quit being a hard news outlet long ago.
i do not want a split nc. it's all or nothing. if the unfortunate should happen, and we lose... then it should be gumps take all. as much as the thought of that is about to make me throw up my leftover beef stew. we signed onto this system. we didnt like it in 03, and i dont want us to take it should the shoe be on the other foot. if we lose, we deal with it.
LSU fans will choke on their collective tongues if that happens cause I can assure you Les Miles and LSU will embrace their share of it, as it should be- god forbid. Hopefully we won't have to deal with sharing it. Something about drinking out of the same cup as Saban is just hard for me to stomach.
Im sure it don't, but if LSU gets voted it, you nor I can do nothing about it. If it pisses off Bama fans by LSU saying UA can only win half a title I'm in.
This could be quite humorous when you think about it. How fitting would it be if the AP awarded LSU a share of the title no matter what after Bama has claimed to won so many titles.
Well, when we would still have a better record than Bama played against a tougher schedule, you could understand the AP doing exactly that!
