I'm feelin fUSC 21, kN 23. No research to back it up, haven't read up much on either team, just a hunch. Anyone have an educated guess?

Educated guess??? NO. Gut feeling??? YES. Trojans win 23 - 21 with a poor showing on both sides of the ball. I know I stole your score!

Vball can give an educated one but a little biased. :hihi:

I do know USC has several starters out: Josh Pinkard, Bryan Cushing, forget the others. I read that some Nebraska coaches made/some out of State visits to get some "Coaching insight" about preparing for USC and also that the Nebraska team is eerily quiet kinda like the Texas team was before the '05NC game.

Stikes me as a game that could be blown wide open by USC or an upset as well. On paper, USC easily has more talent and even with their injuries, the depth should pull them through but this is a HUGE game for the Huskers- a win puts them back on the National stage.......should be interesting.

fUsc Wins a tight one but looks real sloppy and give us enough to jump em in one of the polls ...Vegas in only giving 10 pts which doesnt mean anything

I hope you guys are right and I am wrong because I see USC by double digits and the game never really being that close.

    USuCk 21 N 7

But I think it'll be a tight game -- 7-7, 7-0, at the half. USuCk will get a quick 2d half score then the teams will slug it out until less than 5 minutes left in the game when USuCk's depth wears N down and they score a late TD. In other words, the score won't reflect how tight the game really was and will give some pollsters an out to continue to vote USuCk #1. Which will really take some rationalization after  puts up 63 on hapless mtsu, which doesn't cross mid field until the 4th quarter and kicks a field goal about halfway through the final period. (I know you didn't ask for an LSU! score; consider it lagniappe. )

Too true. Late word is that Cushing will play but not start. And on Pinkard, you have to remember that he was out all last year too and in backup Cary Harris started 11 games last year so he's not a newb.

The Idaho game was not a good measure. We never had the 1st team O on the field and the 1st team D was on the field ONE time. OTOH, we have a ton of young players and a road trip in an atmosphere like Nebbie could be distracting. For those watching or interested, I've heard that JM will be returning kicks.

    Hey, it's PC's birthday tomorrow. I'd like a win. :D

I hope Nebraska beats them but the Cornhuskers didn't look real great in their opening win. (I know USC didn't look impressive against Idaho either.) Until all teams have played 2-3 games, it will really be difficult to determine who should be in the Top 10.

I did read an article which again tried to bolster USC's reputation by saying they don't care about rankings...because when you're a machine...you just win national championships. They also paint LSU as the lucky team to win their 2003 title. :crystal: (What does an AP trophy look like? :hihi: )

Forgive me uscvball...you seem to be pretty nice and well educated...BUT for many of the other people from Southern California...GO STRAIGHT TO HELL...do not pass GEAUX...do not collect your second BCS Title...and don't look for a get out of jail card from us.

You wonder why people don't like you guys. It's just the reason I moved from California. It's full of fruits & nuts and a ton of arrogant (for what I have no idea) A**H****! You have one thing...the weather. BTW...you didn't create the weather...it's always been there. :cuss:

One last thing before stepping off my soapbox. If you have boosters that can accommodate Bush, Lienart, etc....can't somebody help out former Heisman great OJ Simpson? The man is obviously hungry and homeless and has to resort to theft to support himself. Where's the love for the former Trojan?

ESPN/ABC has talked up Nebraska for a couple of weeks b/c it's their primetime game. Folks, Nebraska is not that good. They sorely lack speed to play with the big boys. They are a few more recruiting classes away from getting the athletes they need to play at this level.

USC didn't look sharp in their first game, just like us against MSU. They had a week off to prepare for this game. Emotions and home field may keep Nebraska in the game the first half, but USC will destroy them in the end.
