Saban says that he doesn't want to focus on the Coach or coaches that this affects at LSU only on the bowl game. How much does he strip the cupboard bare, and do you think that the new coach will x the rest anyway?

Well, I hope he wouldn't take too many of our current coaches with him--I really love the staff he's put together here, but it might all be a moot point. Our next coach may bring in his own staff, and replace any of Saban's coaches that are left, for all we know.

I am not here to bash Saban, but I caught one or two inconsistencies. The one I can remember right now is that he was just waiting to tell his players out of respect. It sounded like his mind had been made up for a few days. The report that he still needed 24-48 hours appeared to either be bogs or so reported because that's what Nick said when he apparently didn't mean it. I don't want to call it a lie, but a deception might be in order. There was something else, but I can't think of it right now. One other thing, it was reported earlier than neither Bertman or Jones (?) from Miami knew his decision and what Saban would say at the PC. I call BS on that from both sides. Maybe Skip was hopeful that Saban would change his mind, but Saban said in the PC that he basically told LSU about the deal. Anyway, chalk it up to major college sports. It's a business not altogether like the NFL. Saban could have been in BR for a very long time had he wanted. Too bad.

    Indeed!

That was very awkward, I agree.

Saban probably should have skipped all references to Holiday Cheer. Other than that, he did a good job with the presser. I did not watch his entire presentation. I turned him off after he explained that he left because he has always been driven to take on the next big challenge, and just after he said that he and his family were excited to be going to Miami.

Saban began negotiations as soon as the Miami job opened. He also accepted the Bears job last year and Terry refused to move  :po:
