I'm pretty happy about Fresno St. and Zona. Zona will be a decent team next year and Louis Holmes will see why he should have been a Tiger.
Well, this is exciting to me because this is at least a competitive team. I never want to see a Div. II team in Tiger Stadium again (not that the one we played this year wasn't really good). Those teams are in a different division for a reason. Fresno St. is a team that I could easily see coming in and beating LSU in Tiger Stadium. I'm not saying they will, but it could happen. And that's what it is all about. I don't know who they have coming back, but with the way they hit and their offensive style, they pose problems. Their problem is that they get amped up for one huge team a year and if that team beats them, they tank it the rest of the way (see LA Tech game, etc.) It really took a miracle game from Reggie Bush for USC to beat them. I look forward to that game because it's one of the top games on our lackluster home schedule next year. And CParso, I wouldn't really say we have two good OOC opponents on our schedule. Arizona was 3-8 last year and one of their wins was against a Div. II team. They did skunk UCLA and that was nice. But they're still not good. However, they are improving a bunch (based on the scores of their games). I see what you mean though as far as name recognition goes. They're much better than having North Texas on the schedule. Arizona was good when LSU scheduled them. The problem is LSU schedules to play good teams 10 years down the road. It's totally stupid because you don't know where that team is going to be then.
This is the most solid schedule that LSU has put together in a while. Kudos to the Athletic Department. I hope it becomes a trend rather than the exception.
when's the last time tOSU, michigan, texas, OU, FSU, or miami had a BAD season??? I'd like to get one of those guys on a home n home series
It will be interesting what gear locoguano chooses to wear in attendance. LSU hat with ULL shirt? Decked out in ULL with a LSU bracelet? :hihi:
