http://community.foxsports.com/blog..._burning_questions_going_into_football_season 19- Can LSU repeat?
How anybody thinks that having to play Florida and Auburn on the road is a "dream schedule" is quite beyond me.
no kidding. plus, i read a bit more of the article and this guy says watch out for S.Miss to crash the BCS. he also called MissSt very mediocre (ok, maybe), but later says they will be the sleeper team of the SEC. anyone that knows anything knows that LSU can repeat, but the chances are slim. because of the SEC sched -- the chances are always slim.
The chances for any team to repeat are slim. Who was our last back-to-back champ? And please don't say USC...
Nebraska 94 & 95 These were teams who shared one year and won outright the other: Alabama 78 & 79 Oklahoma 74 & 75 Nebraska 70 & 71
8.5 percent As I indicated in that other thread a couple of months back, I think LSU stands a much better chance at repeating than winning it in 2009. I like our schedule this year much more. No, Florida and Auburn are not cakewalks on the road, but we have won at Florida recently (2002, 2004). Auburn is ripe for the taking and I really do believe we will exorcise those demons. Alabama at home a year before they will be a formidable foe I will take all day long. South Carolina is a little tricky, but not on our level and we will avoid catastrophe. Georgia at home, hopefully a night game, will be a grind but LSU should pull through in the end. As projected, LSU loses at Florida, avenges the loss to them in the SEC CG and goes on to beat USC 31-23 in the championship game. I predicate all of this on Perrilloux leading this team. I also base it on the fact we have the best combined O-line and D-lines ever assembled at LSU in the same year. Games are won at the point of attack. LSU will dominate most teams at the line of scrimmage, on both sides of the ball, therefore minimizing any deficiences we may have.
