http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/6871352#38303 People at my other forum are saying its way too premature but who knows...
Premature? Sure, all these bowl projections are premature. BUT, there is no doubt that LSU is odds on favorites to win the SECW. SECC? Gosh, there is a thread in itself. A lot of questions to answer with UT, UF and UGA. First of all, the W. I know about the D. The only thing I wonder about the D is how wellBeckwith in the MLB position is able to drop back in coverage since you guys are replacing your safeties. One aspect of your offense impresses me just as much. It's fortunate for a team to able to return both the LT and LG considering how dangerous it can be leaving the blind side unprotected. The biggest thing that jumped out at me was the idea that the Sugar would invite Hawaii.
Should not be too shocking though. Considering that's the whole point of that "extra" game is to give the non-BCS bowls a chance to play in a BCS bowl.
landry was great, but coverage wasnt his strong suit. no drop off in pass coverage with steltz, and many would think he's an upgrade. blitzing and stopping the run is another matter. my money is on the DL is too good for anyone to occupy the LBs, so there will be less need for safety help with the run. plus, with opponents always having to play catchup, they likely wont be running much after the first quarter.
Of course the odds are against any team to actually make the game, but we are set up nicely for a good run at it.
You guys are missing the point here...or, I'm just missing the sarcasm. (it's about time vBullentin installs vBcode for sarcasm.) LSU, if you look no further than where LSU played last year, you'll see them in the Sugar. That's with the SEC Champ playing in the title game. Michigan. Sure, I can see that but do you think they'll travel that well? Enough to insure a sell out. I see the represented well, but combining Hawaii and the Wolverines leads to less revenue generated not only for New Orleans, but for the Sugar Bowl as well. It just doesn't make sense, and yes, I would be shocked to see such a matchup. Geez, that would practically eliminate the SE as far as TV ratings. Wouldn't be a smart move. TigerBait mentions "making more money." No, wouldn't happen as far as college football in general. I'd bet that the Sugar would get SEC #3, with Capital One taking SEC #2, and the championship game hosting LSU if it turns out that way. Seriously, how many people in LA would buy tickets for such a game?
