    BATON ROUGE -- Jack Lamabe, LSU's first full-time baseball coach, died Friday. He was 71. Lamabe came to LSU after a stint at Jacksonville University, where former LSU coach Smoke Laval played catcher for Lamabe's team. He was born in Farmingdale, N.Y., and was a graduate of the University of Vermont.
