In recruiting, I am sure this may change, but I suspect LSU will be in the top 3 by end of next week or remain number one depending on the Broussard and Lane. http://rivals100.rivals.com/teamrank.asp
Yea but Tom Lemming on ESPN says we are in his top 10 but will have a hard time making it into the top 5 compeating with Oklahoma, US, and Miami. He says are class is good but not elite. What a joke he is. One the most respected site Rivals has us at number 1 but this yahoo has us only in the top 10 and basically saying we won't be in the top 5. Man this guy has some problems. I think his is bias towards us. The person who asked the question was from Louisiana and asked if we would be a solid number 1 if we signed JaMarcus Russell. He responded by calling him a typical LSU fan. This is why I don't always like ESPN.
ESPN is misery, use cnnsi they have us 4th, but they are a bit behind the times since they still have those kids who decommitted from Miami on Miamis list of recruits. Lemming is a buffoon always has been and always will be. Not that recruiting rankings mean anything, however recruits do look at these things (Specifically Rivals100.com) and when they see LSU number 1 or a top 5, it does make an impression. I assume they go wow, I want to be a part of that.
We have 7 players in Rivals list of top 100 recruits 32.Robert Lane 41.Nick Child 42.Alley Broussard 43.Sean Merrill 74.Anthony Hill 87.LaRon Landry 100.Tim Washington
MSU is the #1 school because... MSU is the top Forestry school in the country (I'm not kidding). I also hear the cow-tipping is better there than any other town in the country...
More reasons to love Starkville... Now that Joe Lee Dunn is gone, their troubles are over. Plus, the recruits can relive their high school days. Most of them probably played in a stadium the same size as MSU's. Starkville...never has a name of a town more aptly described that town.
i respect kids who stay in state...especially when that school is going through some hard times. but of course i like getting players like Edwards, Flynn, Washington, Hill..etc..
That nut from ESPN is just that! If you put his brains (the little he has) in a bird, he would fly in reverse.
