If you want to criticize, fine. If you want everybody else to nod their heads in agreement then you'll be disappointed. Criticism is fine but my problem is with those that whine like someone stole their candy. Not critical of Smoke? You said Woody Allen could have coached this team to a regional and that's not critical of Smoke? You want to see where we are 5 years from now before recognizing him as having coaching ability after taking us to 4 SRs in 4 years? That, my friend, is not intelligent posting. I will repeat this stat because it is so significant: ONLY 3 TEAMS HAVE MADE ALL 6 SUPER REGIONALS. MIAMI, FSU & LSU. Out of 117 Division 1 programs LSU is one of 3 to have been consistently in the top 16. That is Duke basketball-like consistency and no one here should have any complaints about the state of our baseball program. We have not fallen off one iota since Smoke took over. The SEC now is far stonger from top to bottom than when Skip ran the program. I will continue to respond to those children who try and trash our program and if you don't like it, use your ignore function.
Burr I do believe Jean has had a burr under his saddle for some time now, when comes to Smoke. Jean just can not get over the fact that Skip is not coaching now. I'm not sure he ever will. So just take his replacement post for what they are, which is crap. The only team to beat the Tigers this year just happen to be hosting there own super regional. I doubt Jean could have coached this team or any other for that matter. It's difficult to keep the talented teams focused and happy. Smoke has done a fine job.
You obviously don't get it SabanFan. What everybody is trying to tell you is that your sickening butt-kissing of SportFreak, coupled with YOUR moronic posts, is really pissing people off around here. Maybe if you two would stop taking 80% of everyone's posts about our baseball team out of context, we wouldn't be railing you over idiotic and inappropriate threads and posts like this. My advice to other non-radical posters on this forum is to refrain from responding to these kinds of threads, and also ignore unwarranted posts from SabanFan and LSUSportsFreak in the future. I think we all agree that you can't reason with the unreasonable. Awaiting next drive-by insult to be posted after this by the above-mentioned, but just please ignore it and stop wasting memory. Thanks, your "moderator", LSUHotdog.
It's disappointing. I'm disappointed in you in that you are so hasty to call names and be divisive. I would expect that from LSU SF, but not from you. We are all LSU fans here, and I'm certain that most would agree that being insulting to a fellow fan is not constructive and not in the best interest of the board. We should be insulting Bauburn fans, not each other.
3 teams have made all 6 SRs. You are hyper-sensitve and jump to defend Smoke and LSU even when there's no need to conduct a defense, because no bashing is in fact occurring. My observations stand intelligently unrefuted by you, SF, even though you are a self-proclaimed Voice of Reason. 1) any good coach could have brought us to a Reg this year 2) in 5 years, we'll know whether Smoke is one of the greats of college baseball coaching That said, let me say that THIS IS MONEY TIME for our team. It's going to be fun and gratifying to see us win the CWS! I am 100 percent behind the team and coach, but that doesn't govern every thought that I express on this board. PS When we went 0-2 in the SEC Tourney I DID NOT UTTER A WORD of criticism, because I agree that Smoke bashing is not constructive. Now, I suppose, we have to be subjected to attacks by the SF and SF whenever they decide that we are Smoke bashing. I wish the two SFs would explain how is it that they know so much about LSU baseball and the rest of us know so little?
That's right. Skip's teams were not always fundamentally sound, it's true. BUT,the bats are not as lively as they were for Skip, and we can't rely on Gorilla Ball to win it all for us! I would like to see the LSU baseball team emphasize the fundamentals of baseball. All programs must evolve to remain on top. I didn't see any of the regionals, and I'm very happy to hear that the pitching has stepped it up. Do our fundamentals look better? I hope so. I'd like to see great LSU hitting and pitching, and some solid, fundamentally sound defense and base running this weekend! I'm hopeful that Smoke has us peaking at just the right time of the year.
PLEASE AGAIN Guys, let's focus on what's good. We won our regional, we are playing in a Super Regional, one of only 3 teams in the country to play in every Super Regional, things are good, very good.
Just curious does that Robert Lane kid play Baseball for Ole Miss ? The kid that decided competition was not in his blood so he left LSU on signing day to sign with Ole Miss ???? I remember he was a great baseball player. I was wondering if he was doing 2 sports at Ole Miss ?
