I want all of my fellow Football compadres to know how i Spent last weekend. Since i have been rather fanatic about the Tigers this year ( every year) i decided to give my Newlywed wife some time in the R & R to win back her affections ( If you know what i mean) . I had gotten a two night free letter from the Hilton in Oakland that i could use anywhere so i decided to take my wife on a weekend stay to downtown San Francisco. Friday night i picked her up at her job on the way in to San Francisco and we arrived at about 5:30 PM after stressing through the traffic. We rested for a few minutes and got changed and had reservations at " Biscuit and Blues" at 8:30. It is a dinner and live music club near the Hotel. We ate ( Catfish for me and Nice salad for her). Listened to some good blues and jazz and walked back to the hotel . We were on the 43rd floor and we could look out and see the Golden Gate and the Bay and all the City lights. A really great view i must say. Saturday we got up ,had breakfast and went down to Union Square for some Christmas shopping ( Passing by Barry Bonds on the street outside the Nike store). Had some lunch and more shopping. Then back to the room for a nap before going to dinner and dancing. We ate dinner at an italian place called Zingalis and then walked over to the "Sir Francis Drake" Hotel near Union Square to go dancing at The Starlight Room on the top floor. Had a few drinks and danced for a couple hours and then went back to the Hilton. We went up to the " Cityscape" bar on the top of the Hilton 45th floor and had some desert and coffee and danced some more. I reccommend to anybody coming out to go and see the view from the Cityscape at night. Fantastic. Sunday we took our time getting up and got packed up. Stopped at "Chilli's" on the way back to San Jose and got home. Sunday night she had gotten tickets to go see Shania Twain at the HP Center. Wow what a weekend. I told her we will make this a tradition every year between the end of football season and the LSU Championship game. See if you guys can top this !!! Needless to say she is happy football season is over until i reminded her LSU also plays Basketball and Baseball. Im not sure where that leaves me. Oh Well. Geaux Tigers
LOL, Your not alone, my wife goes through the same thing. She's releaved when football season ends and then I remind her its basketball season.
BTW Shania was great. Looking forward to the Sugar bowl and pulling for all those SEC teams to win. All Pac 10 bowl teams to lose. And of coarse all i want for Chrismas is a Tiger win in the Sugar Bowl. Geaux Tigers
Hey CalcoTiger. If you ever find yourself in SF again, give the Slanted Door resturant a try (it in the Mission/Noe Valley area). The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is perfect (huge portions of Thia/veit food for the guys, and a swanky atmosphere for the ladies). I used to live a few blocks away and that is what I miss most about living in SF . . . that resturant.
Lord have MERCY, Calco, that is doing it in style! You have also just made a huge deposit in that mystical bank account that all married men have. You are set for a while, son.
Wife: Can we go to Natchitoches this weekend to see the lights? SabanFan: Nope. Going deer hunting. Wife: Oh. O.K. Damn Calco, now you're making me reconsider my selfishness.
Ya know pasttimer she has been really nice to me this week. I think you might be right about the bank account. Thanks LSUfan next time in the city ill try it. Sabanfan to wife: Want to go deerhunting with me!!! We can stop by the lights on the way back and theirs nothing like a cozy fire and being in the woods for a little romance!!! It worked for me!! Seeing Shania didnt hurt either Geaux Tigers
I was thinking about it. If we give our wives something to look forward to every year at the end of the season and before bowls. We might just get a little more understanding. I am going to give it a try anyway its like the movie with Robin Williams and Kurt Russel where they want to replay the game and they are over at the wives for dinner and its on monday night football. football and the wives. It might work. geaux Tigers
