    AND WE SAID OKAY

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane
Clayson asked her "How could God let something like this happen?" (regarding the attacks on Sept. 11).

Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She
said, "I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives.

And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How
Can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?"

In light of recent events...terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I
think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found recently) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.

Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school . the Bible
Says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they
misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why
They don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT WE SOW."
Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the
world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say,
but question what the Bible says.

Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like
Wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.

Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through
cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

    Are you laughing?

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many
On your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they WILL think of you for sending it. Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

    I've seen that before.

I just don't forward chain letters or jokes, period. Not to mention the flak I usually get (especially here) for actually being a Christian...

What do you think of SabanFan's post:
    I approve
    Your comments on this post:
    Amen

God wants to bless people but he gives people free will to make their own choices.
Who else would ever send their son to die for us?
Would anyone here at this forum?
    No

God doesn't punish people for the actions of their government. This letter suggests that God turns His back on people when they turn their backs on Him. That is bunk. He is always present and calling us back. God will never abandon or leave us to the wolves. No matter what a extremist court rule, or a corrupt politician says, or an inept educator teaches. God does not abandon His own.

    I disagree!
But its not just the government?
Most cities are like Soddom and Gomorrah now days.
A lot of the American people have abandoned God and faith.
There are a lot of atheists and others out there.
There is simply no way there are more christians than others in our society.
I hope I could be wrong?
God doesn't abandon his own but how many of his own does he have left?
Do we still support Isreal, the minute we don't we could be doomed?

There are a lot of regular American Citizens attacking Christianity, American values and morals such as the pledge
and flag not to mention the erosion of our country by others crossing the border.

But God would have sparred Soddom and Gomorrah if even one good person was in one of those cities. Unfortunately, I agree that there are more secular minded people than true Christians, but I do not and will never beleive God has abandonned anyone. That is contrary to how that Dude roles.

I send more jokes around than religious affirmations because if a joke is funny everyone on the recipient list will get a good laugh. Everyone likes to laugh.

It is not my place to send along messages urging people to accept Christ as their savior. Why should I, just because I do? Most people are very annoyed when they are preached to through their e-mail inbox.

God is not in the punishing business. His son paid the price so lets not confuse the old contract with the new one. (Whole different discussion)

God was not going to spare S&G. He was being asked if this was true then would you spare these people. Knowing the answer before the question was even asked he said sure.

    I agree,
Yes Abraham asked over and over again and god agreed that he would not
destroy the city with one rightous person, that is why the angels came and escorted Lot and his family out of Soddom.
But Lot's wife payed the ulitimate price for disobeying God just like some of the Isrealites did.
We are talking Old Testament here of course.

I didn't mean to say that god abandons people because he doesn't.
If they reject him he can harden their hearts though.

He may not be in the punishing business but I think he's trying to get peoples attention!
