Les is always shut mouthed about injuries. I guess he has his reason, but I wish he'd open up a little about it. We don't know how bad he's hurt. I'd like to see him take some snaps just to stay sharp for the next game. 1 quarter would be good for me, unless he's really in good shape, then I'd like to see him play 2 quarters. I guess I won't see this one, will just have to check in after the game and see what everyone thought.
I thought Miles said that Flynn did some therapy and that he did participate at the end of practice but that they wanted him to get some rest- and that Flynn would continue therapy and that he anticipated him ready to go for Saturday. I think he will play until the second the game is reasonably in control and RP gets his most meaningful and most significant PT. I also think Miles is using this for the future........knowing Flynn will play, while downplaying it so in the future, with a player who he knows won't play, the opponents for that weekend will think he's trying to toy with them and they'll assume any "Key" player will take the field and game plan accordingly only to be surprised. That's probably overthinking things though cause, like houtiger said, he's always been tight-lipped about injuries. What I find funny is no mention of Steltz in here, word is he's questionable for the game- turf toe.
I hope Flynn plays simply because he has earned it and deserves it. I know that if I waited 4 years to get the position that I would want to play every down. I sure hope he plays.
Why should you be worried if CLM is "mum" on the issue??? If a coach says nothing reguarding injuries, then it can't be used against him by his opponents. Last I checked, Saturday is still a couple of days away. If Flynn's ankle is "tender", it's tender. Good news is that he likely won't have to worry about playing Flynn extensively this weekend against MTSU. Matt should be comfortably on the bench by halftime and getting more rest in preperation for South Carolina.
If Flynn is gimpy, he may rather sit this game out, heal up, and be in there the in good shape for the SEC championship game. Keep running on a bum wheel, it may not heal now, and you may miss a more important game. Miles has to consider a lot of angles, and you have to keep your eye on the prize, what do we have to do to win championships. We have an opportunity if we plan for it, and play one game at a time. Eye on the prize ! :champs:
exactly. i am surprised that anyone is surprised clm didn't really say anything. it's not like this is a new way of handling things for him.
