yeah, that may be an age thing. tapes and cd's kinda phased out the single. my first cd i bought (3 of them at same time) were: metallica-master of puppets faith no more-angel dust alice in chains-dirt and i think my first tape was def leppard-pyromania or run-dmc raising hell (but i honestly don't remember which one was first)
Nah, singles were still alive and well when I was a kid, I just rarely found ONE song I wanted off of any particular record. So, I usually bought the whole album instead of singles. I was about 10 or so when Appetite came out, and it was probably the 1st time I deviated from my dad's collection to start my own.
Haha. The first tape I ever bought myself was probably this: Released in 1990. I was arguably the biggest TMNT fan as a kid. The first CD I ever bought I know was definitely this: Bought this when it first came out in 1995 and I bet it's still a good album today.
I saw Prince on his Purple Rain Tour. He was good, but Shelia E was WAY better. The Escovedos are supremely talented.
Actually, I think the very first record I ever owned, I got with a record player for Christmas by my Grandma..."Help", by the Beatles. I think I was around 10.
