I know this may be unpopular around here and will get those little green dots next to my name to decrease, but USC is clearly the best team in the nation, I dont care if they have a patsy schedule, they flat out hammered Arkansas a team that was close to beating Bama at home, yes I know Arkansas sucks but that was men among boys, down 13-0 to the ducks they rattle off 45 like they said O.K. lets start actually playing. To me USC looks flat out good, they will have no problem rolling that weak schedule of theirs. Now with that said I still contend LSU would have beaten USC in 2004 because LSU's defense was considerably better then USC's offense at the time. And LSU was just plain good. But this years USC team looks evil... Throw the fruit when you want, but from what I have seen they dont even seem to break a sweat. Just pitch and catch. My point any bozo that ranked UT over USC is clueless.
USC does indeed have a great team but it is WAAAAAAAYYYY too early to claim that they are the best in the nation having beaten absolutely no one yet. There are quite a few teams playing quality ball so far and some have even played legitimate teams.
how is it that anyone can take a poll that gives Idaho 5 votes seriously? As for USC, they are the only team with a defense in a shootout league... eventually they will get caught.. 4 wins by 8 points or less (two of those over very mediocre teams like UCLA and Stanford) and a game that should have been won by V-Tech... They will get caught along the way this season.. possible next week...
I used to think that USC would actually lose one eventually. However, they always pull it out in the end. It also helps that they play in a league that plays zero defense. I can't see how ASU can keep up with USC. They do not lose until Leinart metriculates. They are like the 49ers on the 80s and 90s.
I hate them like the rest of you but, no denying they are the best right now, hands down. IMO, if Notre Dame don't take em down in South Bend, they will get the chance to twopeat.
I think that there are a handful of teams that could beat USC, but none of them are on the USC schedule. Cal is probably the closest to being an upset game. Meanwhile, Virginia Tech is saying that they would handle USC. Perhaps they are trying to get some attention of their own by handing the media some trash talk directed right at USC.
