Time for those players to put on their big boy pants. Sports are a product on the entertainment market. When you put junk on the marketplace, no one buys. If they want to keep people in the seats then put a better product on the field. I'm not singling out the players for what's going on. This is a combination of multiple factors. Undersized defense, bad game plans, not getting the right players in the right position, injuiries, poor execution on the field etc ... This team, this program is not being managed the way it should be and the results are the proof. Yes, it's great to have a bond between players and fans. But in the end, people spend their hard earned dollars on things they want. When you don't deliver what they want ... they leave. Simple. I guess I'm one of those bad fans because I left Bryant Denny with 11:00 left in the 4th Quarter. But there was no way I was going to sit there cold and wet to watch us get trampled by Henry's cleats and then fight traffic all the way back to Birmingham. We cut our losses and left. So I can't really blame the fans for seeing the ending of the movie coming and walking out because the sequel was worse than the original. Still they need to look at the fact that 102,000 people showed up to watch them play. If they really want to get pissed off at the fans, run out of the tunnel at the beginning of the game to the welcome of about 100 fans. Then you can start the conversation about the worst fans ...
This article from The Advocate talks about Dillon Gordon's tweets: http://theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/13987069-128/worst-fans-ever-injured-lsu
It is truly sad that so called fans leave early. I've said it before, LSU has the best or the worst fans around. All depends on the scoreboard. THe problem is the price of tickets, parking, etc is outrageous. Businesses are picking them up fast, not allowing true fans to go to the game. On the other hand, I get the frustration with Miles and the recent performance. You know how things have been going, sell your god damn tickets. I can't stand Miles and want him gone, but I'd sit until the game of the game to support the players.
Dillon Gordon can dump his medical redshirt and leave then. Those people pay good money, some pay 3 and 4 hundred dollars and more, some pay thousands, and they are tired of seeing garbage. I don't blame them.
Right, it's one thing if we're competitive and lose. Quite another to have sit and watch a team that's basically quit. Most teams struggle at the beginning of the year, then get better as the season progresses. Ours seems to do the exact opposite. Lack of coaching, lack of player development.
Welcome to the new Tiger Stadium brought to you by TAF and a greedy athletic dept. Most of the blue collar fans that use to sit in those seats are gone. The new fans leave at the end of the 3rd even when we're winning. Most aren't even there to watch football.
