The Georgia Dome now has Fieldturf. I think this is a better brand of the new type of fake grass than the Astroplay that Ole Miss had.

We seemed to have had trouble picking the right shoes against Ole Miss, but even though Field Turf is supposed to be better and "more grass" like we still do not have anything similar to practice on except maybe the Superdome, which is supposed to be closer to Ole Miss.

In any of the new plans for the Football facilities has there been any talk of installing a new turf in the indoor practice facility? Not that this would help next weekend, but the new turfs are more likely to be played on at opponents' stadiums than the old astroturf, and it would be easier on the players.

Georgia Dome turf is identical to SuperDome. Done by a company from Texas.

They may or may not be identical, but they are not the same brand. Georgia Dome uses Field Turf and Superdome uses Astroplay. Just like with the field here at Texas Stadium (Real Grass) there are bound to be some differences. I would think though for practice purposes any of the new turfs would be similar enough to make adjustments for shoes and stuff.

Yes they are very similar. I'm sure LSU will get some practice time on Ga Dome surface to decide cleats and shoes. They've probably looke ahead into this, we just don't know it.

Saban has said that he dosen't want artifical turf on any of the outdoor fields because of the heat problems. The turf in the indoor is only three years old and only gets used when there is lightning or extreamely sloppy conditions. I think they will wait a few more years before they spend $750,000 to replace it.
