I have never witnessed a game with so much on the line coached with so much confidence in his team. An absolutely beautiful game. Les Miles is an incredible Coach. :thumb: Les Miles OUT COACHED Urban Meyer LSU's offense drove the ball down the Gators gut to win the game. LSU's Defense put it on Tim Tebow to win the game. This may be the greatest win ever for LSU. They took the game away from Florida in the 2nd half. The 2nd half drives were so dominate. Wow, what a confident group of Tigers. It's great to be an LSU Tiger!!! :geauxtige
We have a good rushing game offensive line and an excellent short yardage back. It gives us the luxury of doing those sorts of thing. It gave us the win tonight.
At halftime, I would have given us about a 1 in 10 chance of winning the game. This was huge. Just huge. I'm kind of overwhelmed by this game. I would say I'm at a loss for words, but they keep coming. This was a game won by Les Miles and Jacob Hester. Of course, that's not entirely true. The defense came up huge in the last quarter. They struggled the entire first 3 quarters and then stepped up big. It was also won by Matt Flynn, who again didn't exactly have great stats, but showed his guts and that he's a football player. It was won by the offensive line, which allowed our running game to have success all night. Even when the rest of the team was struggling, we always ran the ball well. Les Miles coached a great game, but we'll find out even more about him this week, if he can get this team to put this game in the past and focus on Kentucky. That's a classic let-down game waiting to happen. He also has to work on the confidence of his kicker, who missed two makable field goals and got passed on TWICE in field goal range in order to go for 4th down conversions.
Sure Les made some ballsy playcalls, but give all the credit to the players. They're the ones that fought for the yards and got them. Les only gave them chance to, which no other coach in the country would have. The bond between player and coach and player and player are exemplified in that drive. It is a special team no doubt.
Most coaches would not give the players the chance to go for it that many times on fourth down... LES MILES deserves a lot of credit and has balls the size of basketballs..... What a game... Players were great and the coaches were great... :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
I do not think it was Les having concerns about the kicker making the FG on the last drive more than going to OT against Tebow. i am sure glad we got a TD on the last 3rd down, I wonder if we would have went on 4th down again?
I think Les was thinking if we are truly the #1 team then we need to prove it. He also wanted to score with very little time left. He was managing the game to win, not tie and go into overtime. We were at home. Awesome game.
Good to see that attitude coming from our coach and the execution happening on the field at the same time!! Incredible game. I WILL claim that I was there by the way!!!! :hihi:
