What is/are your favorite moment(s) or play(s) of the 2006-2007 season? PLEASE NO SATIN AND/OR COACHING CHANGES COMMENTS! Let's talk about the great season we enjoyed. I just finish watching the replay of Aubarn, FL, and TN games I burned to DVD. I didn't have the OlePiss game to watch, but I was at the game. I wanted to see again how close we really were to being undefeated or a 4 loss team. Well too many turnovers at FL, no way we undefeated. Two plays in two big games I think got us to the Sugar Bowl and one bad call kept us from seeing FL again and end up in Tempe. We can't control the bad call, but we could make plays when needed. Favorite Plays or drive #1: I think the final drives in TN game showed how cool JR was under pressure. We don't make that 4th & 8 pass to doucet in the last 2 minutes with one TO and the clock running, the game is over and we lose and be 6 - 3. That drive at the end when Doucet makes the two huge catches and wins us the game. The look on Fulmer's face at the end was priceless for #8 ranked TN. Favorite Plays #2: At the Pigs: On the first play after an LSU punt, Dick was picked off by LSU safety LaRon Landry, who returned 19 yards to the Arkansas 9-yard line. On third-and-goal from the 7, Russell notched his 26th touchdown pass of the season, finding Doucet who wrestled the ball from an Arkansas defender for the score. After the David PAT, LSU led 24-12. On the next play from scrimmage after a touchback, McFadden darted through the LSU line for an 80-yard touchdown that closed the gap to 24-19 with 10:31 to play in the game. But wait. The show wasn't over. LSU sprinter and tailback Trindon Holliday showed his stuff by returning the kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown and a 31-19 lead. Maalox moment: OlePiss 14 seconds left, down by 6, 4th and goal at the 5, JR hits Bowe for the tie, Big "O" calls timeout to get 3 players in who usually don't play special teams and they block the extra point. We don't make the play to tie on the last play of the game, we are 8-3 or 7 -4 with TN loss. We win in OT with awesome athletes. Thanks CLM, coaches and players, it was an exciting season! Can't wait until September 1st..........:geauxtige
Well this is hard since you took all of the great offensive plays.:hihi: I will go with Landry's massive hit on JP Wilson. Perfectly times dead sprint of 25 yards. I also enjoyed JR taking the a huge hit and not budging to complete the slant pass. Beckwith's 2 hit on Arizona QB. Closing speed on those hits was amazing to watch with an athlete that size.
One of my favorite moments was in the Georgia game in 2003. With about 4:00 left in the game Georgia scored on a 90+ yard screen pass to tie the game. Instead of silencing the crowd the entire stadium errupted in chants of "L-S-U L-S-U", the loudest I've ever heard. We all know what happened after that. To me, that game is where our program "turned the corner." OOPS, just noticed the thread was for this past season. Lafell's TD in the Sugar Bowl then.
favorite moment has gotta be when Trindon was standing on the sideline after his Arky kick return/td and was posing for the cameras with his teammates
Bowe, against Arky, running with the ball, and a linebacker comes up to put on the "big hit", and Bowe goes through him like a tornado in a trailer park. Commentators made sure to tell everyone that he was a LB, not a CB, and he got plowed by Bowe.:hihi:
Fresno state. Holliday shows his true speed for first time. I can't wait to watch this guy next season. I hope he is the main kick returner.
As an outsider... I recall all of these plays. I'll add this, the best single game performance I witnessed was Russell this year against Bama. Heck, you even have to give him credit for Williams TD.
