Okay, went to the County Fair yesterday. It's the ultimate in really bad but really good food. I love being able to pick from stuff that I know has NO health value whatsoever. The last few years, the hot ticket out here has been deep fried candybars.....Snickers, 3 Musketeers, Twinkies. Yesterday I had a pulled pork sandwich, a smoked turkey leg, and the MOST amazing and HUGE cinnamon roll for dessert. And just so you can all have a laugh at Cali expense, I heard one Cali guy say to another, "dude, do you know how much transfat that corndog has?" So, what do ya'll like to eat at the Fair?
Originated in Scotland I guess. But....... http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/food/85559_onastick.shtml http://candyaddict.com/blog/2005/10/26/deep-fried-snickers/ http://www.sptimes.com/2002/02/13/Taste/Extreme_fair_food.shtml
I always bought a big sack full of that taffy at the State Fair in Shreveport. Used to love to go there. Stock car racing on Saturday afternoon, La Tech and Northwestern playing football. Junk food all day. That was some fun. At the Texas State Fair in Dallas, the corndogs (Fletcher's ?) are damned good.
