I'll be there. Anyone else going? Should be a good turn out since we have two of the best teams in basketball in SEC and the country for that matter, and a lot of people will be on campus getting ready for tomorrow. What I'm trying to say is, go.

    Now, I'm off to geology.

Just got back from fan fest. Wasn't to impressed with the show itself, but it had it's moments. It was unorganized it seemed. Glen Davis really slimmed down and looked good. Tack Minor won the 3-point contest, Chris Johnson won the dunk contest. Shooting was off for both teams but it's really early.

    Tack shot real well, IMO...

Pokey did the bonehead move of the night.

Brady walked onto the court as she was speaking, so the students chanted. "BRADY, BRADY!"

And she just stopped speaking, looked at them, and said: "It's Pokey first, you'll get John later," in a sort of rude manner.

Anyway, the team will be far more athletic this season. Mason is a beast.

So, it's annoyed me that there isn't more on the opening night like a light scrimmage or anything like the old days. At least there seemed to be some skills on display.

My question for folks that were there since many of us could not go...

    1. Who else was in the 3 point contest? It was pleasing to see Tack won, although not sure what his percentage was or who he beat. Did Terry Martin play?

    2. So, Chris Johnson won the slam dunk. Man, from the pictures, it looks like the kid didn't gain a pound since last year. It's nice to win the slam dunk contest I suppose, but I hope the kid's more than a circus act this year. I saw Mason got second place, so we should see a lot of high flying from him... I think he's going to be a big time impact player.

    3. Any other observations?

The way they did it is Tack shot a rack, then a fan shot one, then tack, then the fan

b/c it was a player teamed with a fan

in the finals, Tack hit on 8 of the 11 shots he took...

the 1st round he was ice cold to start, but hit 3 out of 4 to end

The other guys team was Glen Davis and his fan, and they didn't do anything worth a darn, but I guess that is to be expected.

Dameon Mason can fly: period! D-Mitch used to have hops, but this kid can fly... Baby D-Wade...

For the 2-ball, Tasmin didn't miss a shot the whole time I don't think.

His team lost, but he hit every shot I saw him take. He will be the big man on campus this year IMO.
