Can we cut our losses now and get a real DC, or do we have to put up with years of mediocrity on defense first?
Well according to dandydon, Clay is the defensive coordinator. At least I think that's what I read. I guess we'll just have to give him a shot. Hopefully part of his problem has been his lack of quality players, and he certainly won't have that problem here. I would think he'd be kept on a pretty short leash and if our defense takes too much of a drop off next year that something would be done about it. But maybe that's just wishful thinking. Maybe even if the defense does suck, he'll have at least 2 or 3 years to prove himself. I guess we really don't have a choice in the matter though.
didn't clay have excellent defenses at UAB the few years he was there? I know LSU fans remember the defense that shut us down in Saban's first year. Boy, are we spolied around here. Give the guy a chance.
