I'm not sure of the best solution but many of the suggestions seem like they would be better than the current system. My favorite proposal was for an 8 team playoff with the first round game at the higher seed. Incorporate the bowls in the other rounds. Four team playoff might be easier though. Why do we have to extend the season after Jan 1st? There's so much time between now and Jan 1st that I think games should be played in between. Not sure if finals is one reason but a team like LSU that is on a roll may not be able to sustain their offensive flow after such a long layoff. Ideally, you want the top two teams at the top of their game for the national championship. The long gap between games hurts the quality of the game.

They are already playing 12 or 13 games. Your going to add more by having a extended playoff system. You are risking injuries to players going into the NFL draft, what for more $$ for the networks? When the season is all said and done, I stick with what I said earlier, there are only going to be about 3 or 4 teams that are head and shoulder above the rest that deserve to play for the National Championship. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You don't need to play 12 or 13 games with a playoff system I really don't think we need to play 4 non conference teams a year with a playoff system.
