Why does it seem to me that some people think that Saban already has his bags packed and the UHaul started? Is it because some little prick in Palm Springs wrote an article. Well, here is another article that is from the Miami Herald that seems to be a little more trustworthy. http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/football/10411976.htm?1c
i think most everyone is chilled out. everyone's simply discussing, what if? if and when that day comes.
More trustworthy because it says what you want it to say? It is no more trustworthy than any other 'unnamed sources' article. No sense in speculating, the only person we can trust here is Skip - and if he said they had not contacted him, then they have not contacted him. All I can say is Nick will leave eventually, this job is not where he wants to finish - he wants to prove himself in the NFL. I just pray to god we don't hire Butch Davis. I'd rather have Norm Chow than Davis, with the trail of destruction Butch left he can't be a man of good character.
trail of destruction? he was brought in to clean up someone else's trail of destruction. you have that major issue backwards. to say good people left him then you'd have to say that compares with Saban who can hardly keep assistants and even a bigger control freak. it bodes well in college, not pro. these guys are similar in more ways than one though i'm not completely sold on Davis yet he is proven. No one but Emmert was sold on Nick before he arrived, either.
Not Miami, Cleveland. Players and his staff openly calling him an *******, untrustworthy, incapable, arrogant, and praising his firing. You cannot blame the entire team as being selfish jerks, obviously it was Davis causing the problems. He didn't stick around long enough in Miami to screw it up, we'll regret it if we get him. I have nothing backwards. He may be a good college coach, but I don't want to sell our soul. There are guys who can do as good a job as him and still be the kind of human being that I respect.
First of all, why do you say that Nick wants to prove himself in the NFL? What makes you believe that? Second of all, I agree that the way Davis left the NFL has left me concerned about how he would lead the LSU program, were he to become the head coach. Although I still think he would be a frontrunner if the position became available.
its well known by all who are close to Saban although everyone has a right to change their mind as time passes and variables and lifetstyles change. some hope he has grown tired of the current NFL environment since he is in touch with his bud, Belichick & others. who the hell is going to believe a bunch of underachieving, overpaid losers who blame their coach as soon as he leaves. they are supposedly professionals... I use that term loosely. He turned the Miami Canes around by cleaning up that mess left behind by two other well knowned cheaters. College is completely different than on the pro level. Spurrier=god in college. Spurrier=curly hallman in the pros. see how easy that is to differentiate?
Character and class in a head coach are the same in the pros and college. I do not want to argue over something that may never happen, I'm just saying if he is hired we will all regret it eventually. Or maybe just I will - he may win some championships here, but to me championships are not the most important thing.
