We're talking about how he fell out of the Heisman race, not that he wasn't the best player in CFB last year. Regardless, the best player didn't win us any championships.
I got that, I'm just pointing out from his perspective he rebounded with the top pick. Vince Young got snubbed with the Heisman but won the crystal over a team with two Heisman winners.
I'll be waiting for a Big East grad to win the SuperBowl MVP this year so they can be represented like Peyton Manning and Hines Ward have represented the SEC over the past two years.
It seems the Heisman once meant much more. Now, it's just as driven by the media and the bias of a few as the Academy Awards. It almost appears to be more of a curse than an honor. Then there's the whole pompous as hell ceremony. There are so many athletes now that are (excuse the term) bred to be a great player. There are many standouts but few standouts within the large group of standouts. Or something like that.
